EVENT

The current economy of France is suffering from a devaluation of currency, due to extensive loans and beaurocratic coruption. The unbalanced and unfortunate way that the Treasurys agents run afairs causes lower quality Metals to be used in the mint. Flooding the market with poor quality coins that are hardly any use abroad.

INFLATION
DutchDucat1599Obv.jpg

It will cost France 2 econ to perform any act that would cost 1 econ otherwise. For the purpose of loans, 1 econ from states not affected by inflation is worth 2 econ from France. (Duration 1 year. End July 1426)

Thanks guys... Longinus has the right of it.:D

But jaron, as you're a new player, I feel obliged to warn you of something m8.

If you intend to fight England, there is a "Non esculation" event waiting for you m8. (Last used in the NA/HRE conflict) It stands for anyone helping EITHER sides.

Money is OK and won't trigger it but troops will. OK?

Nightmare Just hang on a second please m8. I'll let you know ASAP.

SQ! Great to have you back m8 :D ! You unfortunatly forgot to tell us you were going anywhere. So we put your court in stasis until we knew what was happening. As we now know you were on a break, it's nice to have your Royal presence back. I'll have your court re-opened ASAP m8.

As to the Cease fire...... Them darn French provoked repercutions ;)

stop harrassing me, please.

I'm not harassing you, I'm trying to figure out if you're going to leave for a while or only for a weekend. You asked me to put Russia NPC for a few weeks while you're on vacation. I'm just trying to figure out if you're going to be on vacation for a few weeks in this RPG as well or not. If so, I won't send anything to you in both RPG during your vacations.

Ivan Dmitri speaks up.

"Holy Father, do not see how taking sides in this war will help to further the church's aims. Supporting Moscow and Karelia against Suzdal and Pskov makes no sense whatsoever, particularily in the face of a very robust and active Horde. Indeed, by encouraging all this fighting amongst the Princes, we are only making them weaker should the Horde attack them. For make no mistake, Bars Khan will strike if he feels he can. And then we would lose both Moscow and Karelia, as well as any lands those two realms had gained in their war."

Pleading with the Patriarch, Dmitri looks up at him. "Holy Father, the war in the north is a matter between the Russian princes and the Great Khan. By bringing the patriarchy into matters, we only encourage an erosion of the prestige and respect for this mighty institution, and perhaps signal an escalation of matters. Should Bars Khan see the patriarchy as working against him, there is no telling what he might do. And we all know how those men of the east make war..." Dmitri shudders. "Moreover, my own life and that of my flock might be endangered should the Orthodox religion move even further against the Horde than they have done already. The Horde is tolerant of religion, but not of sedition."

The Patriarch stands;

"Im not supporting any war against the Suzdal, but against Pskov yes. He was not fighting along side Suzdal. He moved out of greed swindeling the provinces from the Golden Horde, then attacked Novograd because of his greed.

Pskov made this war between the Russians all the worse. It was Pskov that could cause this war to destroy the Russian civlization.

And at the same time, Pskov asks me to bless them. Why would I bless a man who lies to me by telling me he desires peace, then declares war on Novograd. He has pushed this war over the edge.

Im not doubting that Barks Kahn will attack, but I do not want to see the Rouge leader of Pskov ruling Russia.

I would rather see Bars Kahn rule Russia then Pskov. At least the Kahn is honest."

Piotr Lodonov steps forward to speak.

You have misunderstood the Grand Prince's intent, O Holy Father. Fedor is merely attempting to save all the Rus he can from the grip of the Mongols. You have seen Novgorod lose its namesake province and Olonets to the Horde, and the Grand Prince Fedor has gained it back. You must realize that no good will come from this ruler, as well as this Princess of Muscowy, while together they flaunt and disregard their bound oaths of loyalty to the Khan, which alone would be justification for their elimination. Indeed, the Prince fights for the honor and wellbeing of Rus, not greed. The Prince of Karelia openly threatened war upon the Prince Pskov and promised to eliminate him and his realm after the war with the Horde if Fedor did not support him. How can you ask that His Highness make peace with a ruler such as this? I beg you to understand.

The Bishop of Pskov steps back.

Hieromonk Polycarp clears his throat and says, quietly,

"Holy Father, it grieves all of us for Orthodoxy to be torn apart thus. However, I fear you may be turning a blind eye to the arrant hostility of Novgorod and Moskva. Kniaz Fedor peacably achieved the freedom of Olonets and the province of Novgorod from the Horde, and immediately the German prince of Novgorod demanded the return of these two provinces at swordpoint. This is just a further example of the bloodthirstiness of the two children that rule a realm they call Russia.

"Before you condemn Pskov, we would beg you to consider all of the facts. Your envoys can travel freely in any land where there are Orthodox. If you wish to bring peace, would not now be an excellent time to go on a tour of all the Orthodox lands of Russia?"

Polycarp bows before the Patriarch, and withdraws.

,

You can accept as many loans as people are willing to give you, of course there are consequences.

Every nation that has taken out excessive,,,very excessive loans has been hit by inflation.

Where were your complaints while England was being hit by inflation events?

Dmitri responds:

"Holy Father, to stay neutral when Moscow declares war on Suzdal, bringing overwhelming force against them, and then to lay Pskov low when they come to Suzdal's assistance does not give the appearance of neutrality. Truly, one must wonder why you would support a Prince and Princess who have plunged Russia into war, and then when they realize that their actions have concequences they go running off to their parents. They were quite happy to flout peace and justice when it worked to their advantage."

The Patriarch responds with a worried face;

"Hmm, I did not realize the extent of the threats Novograd had levled on Pskov. I will reconsider my anathema on Pskov.

However I do not believe that Pskov is coming to the aid of Suzdal, rather than grasping the opportunity to grab more land.

Mayby Rus should be controlled by the Golden Horde, only he makes sense anymore.

I will put more thought into the actions of Pskov, as of now your leader is still a member of the Church. But when peace comes, I am going to watch very carefully the terms of peace.

As to touring Rus. Are you crazy, with all these switching of alliances. I am not sure that I wouldnt be held hostage.

Plus Siberans are around, they are the worst scum of the universe. The Horde should realize how bad Siberia makes them sound."

Issiydor speaks,

"Holy father,
The prince of Novgorod have not threatened Pskov in any way before Pskov joined the war against Novgorod. And even now, when Pskov have betrayed us the Prince is willing to let them remain an independant state as long s they give back the Novgorodian land. Pskov entered the war not because Novgorod threatened them, but because of greed. I understand that Suzdal was defending itself, but Pskov.......they made a deal with the horde....they attacked us out of greed.......I believe that is enough wrong they have done to earn an anathema. I promise you that if Pskov surrenders I will do my best to try to talk Princce into leting them exist, but if the desision is not made soon I might not be able to do it. We only want peace in Russia, and to free the russians from the horde's rule. Why on Earth would Pskov be fighting against it? I see only greed in their actions, and nothing more."

Issiydor sits down ver frustrated with all the lying from Pskov, Suzdal , and the mongols.

Dmitri responds:

"Brother, surely you know that Suzdal was defending itself against the aggressive actions of your prince? Who is to say that the Prince of Karelia's thirst for blood would be sated by merely subjugating Suzdal? Pskov was quite right to be leary of the Prince, who speaks of friendship from one side of his mouth and of war from the other. While the patriarch has already called down a crusade upon the poor Russians of Suzdal, he need not also punish the poor people of Pskov."
