A rumour runs through the diet like wild fire. The Inquisition had found something. Rumour had it it wasn't good.
Just outside the Diet, a cowled inquisitor hands over an ornate set of scrolls to Cardinal de Montpetit. They consist of sworn afidafids and confessions with additional notes on prior investigations. He hovers nearby. Nervous.
The Covering note is writen by one of the Cardinals highest ranking agents, a bishop from Rome, here with him.
"Your Holy eminance Cardinal de Montpetit. Blessed of God. Here are the results that we have accumulated and analissed by your command and that of the Vicar of christ, heir to St. Peter, the Holy father. God bless him.
We have discovered Irrefutable evidence pertaining to the abduction and Murder of the maid Joan of Arc which proves that the whole scheme was masterminded by the Emperor and many of the noble houses of Austria to further some very dubious goals, regardless of the cost. God save their souls. In nomini.Parte, et filli, et spirtu sancti, amen."
