The Count of Kyritz rises to speak, that in itself unusual in the more relaxed atmosphere that pervades the council of the Liga. His face is stern, but not worried.

"Gentlemen, we have heard rumors of war and now I have it that the Emperor has order the Steward to take up the Imperial banner and march to war in Bohemia.

"How shall the armies of the Liga be ordered? The Steward must prepare quickly. On what support from the Liga may he count?"

Duke of Rostov Vasili Donskoi III, Prince Ivan (brother but abdicated), and Mother of the Princess Mari, were talking over the night fire in the palace.

Duke:Hmm....I have overheard peasents and spies speaking of Novgorad and their ambitions...

Mother:Really? I heard the same. What do you think of it?

Duke:Well I am not sure, but it seems that they want their lands back and are "asking" for them to be returned.

Brother:Well I think they only want to be in a better position for themselves after all we are both Russian aren't we?

Duke:That may be true, but it is definately insane as the Princess's safety and the country's safety is at stake.

Brother:I don't think so, I think they will still be friendly towards us...

Mother:Still friendly?Umm...they already aren't friendly towards us my son.

Brother:Well that is because we speculate them of such.

Duke:We are only looking for the safety of ourselves and the other Russians, and it has been made clear that they show expansionist policies.

Brother:Well kind Duke, you mustn't forget we did break vassalage from the Horde and that too shows expansionist policies.

Duke:That is absurd young man!

Mother:Yes most, we have a right to be independent and free from those people!

Brother:Well it shows that we really have similar ambitions...

Duke:Well no not neccessarily, we want peace and prosperity to ALL of Russia and being connected with the Horde dosen't bring such, so it was neccessary my good young man.

Mother:Well Novgorad let's their people run freely so naturally it is only true that they would want to expand, let peasents run and then ignorance will reign supreme.

Duke:I agree, it is porposterous to have such a system.

Brother:Well I agree with that, but I do not agree with your views on their policies, I think your just being paranoid.

Mother: We aren't paranoid, we are speaking the truth!

Duke:Young man, I don't think you understand very well about Novgorad thus you remain incompetant, her excellency makes a much better ruler than you would've been.

Brother:That is very untrue!I would've been great perhaps greater than her, and anyways, you are certainly not speaking the truth, I have found Novgorad to not show no aggresion here!

Mother:They have my son, they threat us with war!

Duke:Well not really, but they sound threatening.

Brother:It dosen't matter I know Novgorad wants peace like us not war despite what any foolish rumor says.

Mother:It is not foolish my son, its very true and real!

Duke:You should listen to your mother young man, she knows a hell of lot more about what is going on here than you obviously.

Brother:hmph...well I know that if I were Grand Prince I would arrest you!

Duke:Really? You would arrest me for speaking of reality my good man?

Brother:No I would arrest you for misconduct and disrespect.

Duke:Haha well now I know that you truly are insane!

Mother:You would know that all of Rostov would be after you don't you?

Brother:If I were Grand Prince it wouldn't matter, I will just arrest them too!

Duke:You are lucky you are close with her excellency, or I would kill you right her you fool!

Brother:Really? Why because I disagree?

Duke:No because you are insane!

Mother:Shhh quite the Princess is coming we mustn't let her know we were talking about such matters.

Brother:hmph..okay, I got to go to bed anyways!

Duke:Haha what a fool!

Brother:Shut your mouth!

Mother:Stop it the both of you!

Duke: Fine...

Lothar Stoiber rises in the Ligas council.

"I don't like all this war business. However, Bremen will never allow an Imperial nation to be overtaken by heretics and sinners, and both I and Duke Johann II believes that the hussites are just that, heretics and sinners.

Bremen will follow the Liga armies to war."

Jürgen Bauer steps forward and bows to Willem van Egmond.

"Noble sir.
It is with great pleasure I inform you that Mecklemburg has accepted the invitation to join the Hansa Trade Union.

According to the charter you, as member of the Union, will have to express your support of the enlargement of the Union. I am sure this is a mere technicality, as it would be in the Unions best interest to secure easy access tp the harbour of Mecklemburg."

Friederich Kaufmann once again asks for and is granted an audience with the duke of Mecklemburg.

He bows to the duke, and starts to speak.

"Great Johann IV.

My duke Johann II of Bremen has informed me that heis most deligthed to have receivedyour letter.
He feels that the Hansa Trade Union would be incomplete without Meclemburg, and hehopes you will sign the charter as soon as possible. Actually, I have a copy of the charter withme, and if you would like, you could sign it this very moment.

Prussia has expressed her support of Mecklemburg joining the Union, and it is only a matter of time before Gelre accepts the enlargement as well.

Therefore, Magnus von Stargard is allready included in the Trade Union Councils meeteings, and when you sign this charterm Mecklemburg merchants will be allowed to fly the Hansa Trade Union Banner."

With these words the ambassadir waves his hand, and a servant unfolds a banner:

This is the report of the brothers of christ in their investigation headed by Cardinal de Montpetit of the Inquisition in Austria pertaining to the abduction and Murder of the maid Joan of Arc.

Along with prior information gained and expense payed the 1 Papal econ merits a +1 modifier.

1. The Emperor has excelled in his attempts to find the culprits, he can even name them and their whole network. (+2 morale for 4 turns)

2. That there is no evidence of any sort to link any party to the crime other than that which the Emperor has already claimed, thus strengthening his case (+2 morale for 2 turns)

3. That they discover evidence which proves that Austrian, and Austrian disident
nobles alone were responsible for the crime.
(No link to Emperor)(+1 Morale for 2 turns)

4. That they discover evidence which proves that Austrian, and Austrian disident nobles alone were responsible for the crime and that Genovese parties were
framed in order to help them carry the guilt.
(+1 Morale for 1 turn) [/color]

5. That they discover evidence which proves that notable Austrian and Genovese nobles were alone responsible for the crime. (-1 Morale for 1 turn)

6. That they discover evidence which proves that Austrian nobles alone were responsible for the crime, working at the behest of the Emperor himself. (-1 Morale for 2 turns)

7. That they discover evidence which proves that the whole scheme was masterminded by the Emperor, who's attempt to frame Austrian and Genovese parties was made to cover his own tracks. (-2 morale for 2 turns)

8. That they discover evidence which proves that the whole scheme was
masterminded by the Emperor and many of the noble houses of Austria to further some very dubious goals, regardless of the cost.
(-2 morale for 4 turns)

An 8 was rolled.

+1 modifier = 9 (Irrefutable result )

A rumour runs through the diet like wild fire. The Inquisition had found something. Rumour had it it wasn't good.
Just outside the Diet, a cowled inquisitor hands over an ornate set of scrolls to Cardinal de Montpetit. They consist of sworn afidafids and confessions with additional notes on prior investigations. He hovers nearby. Nervous.
The Covering note is writen by one of the Cardinals highest ranking agents, a bishop from Rome, here with him.

"Your Holy eminance Cardinal de Montpetit. Blessed of God. Here are the results that we have accumulated and analissed by your command and that of the Vicar of christ, heir to St. Peter, the Holy father. God bless him.
We have discovered Irrefutable evidence pertaining to the abduction and Murder of the maid Joan of Arc which proves that the whole scheme was masterminded by the Emperor and many of the noble houses of Austria to further some very dubious goals, regardless of the cost. God save their souls. In nomini.Parte, et filli, et spirtu sancti, amen."

(-2 morale for 4 turns to Austria )until June 1425.
