Prince Cour speaks up

What a total load of bull, do the federation think we are all fools ? Apparently they do, you know very well that the King of France is crowned King of France, and his heir baptised by the pope himself as heir to the throne of France if his father should be removed.

Secondly the Federation has given promise after promise, was it not they whom promised not long ago that their pact with Livonia would not bring the federation and the Northern alliance into comined war against the HRE, this nearly happend.

To call an Catholic majesty mad is herecy of the third degree, and i advice the ruler of England and his advisors whom uses this phrase in public to seek penance at the Holy See.

England has refused mediation, they have refused even the very basis of peace talks, they will do so when they will seize France and then focus on the Empire. We warned you, and we warn you again. IF France falls, the Empire will fall thereafter. His Majesty Charles VII and his Chancellor sent a letter to start talks, what their highest demands where, as it normally is the English should make an counteroffer, and then they all shall meet on the middle and sign peace. Now the warmonger regent of England refuses, nothing but brutal annexation of Scotland followed by brutal annexation of France will stop that madman. I assure you they would not even consider a status quo peace, a they are after land and money, not honour or fairness.

Frantz Dyck, the Bremer delegate, has been silent for a long time.
Now he stands up, and waits patiently till he is given the right to speak.

"Noble delegates.
It is with great pleasure I hear that the war that threathened to tear the Empire apart has ended.
Since Bremen is a member of the Liga von Nurnberg, I believe my signature as legal representative of Bremen is required as well, although Bremen never actually participated in the war."

With these words, Frantz Dyck signs the treaty for Bremen.

"I have been tempted to join Die Hartkopfen Partei, but for the time being, I will merely express my sympathy for some of their beliefs.
The Holy Roman Empire is not one nation, but a gathering of nations, and thus, no single man shall try to rule over us all.
It is my hope that the next Emperor will remember the lesson learned by this war, and rule the Empire in accordance with the wishes of both the Holy Mother Church and the independent states that constitute it.

As for Moskvas cry for help, I will once again say loud and clear:
let the heathens kill themself, Bremen will never offer any support, military of economical, to a heathen nation.

As for the war between England and France, I'll advice the french delegate to contact Duke Johann II of Bremen directly.
It is not within my powers to offer any kind of support, but I am sure that Johann II will be willing to give some sort of support if he is asked."

A letter from the Saxon Duke arrives to The Diplomat from Pommern, Zakrzycki. The orders in the letters tell him to read it up loud before the Diet.

"Dear Diet of the Holy Roman Empire.

My Diplomat, Jacob Johann von Winkelstein has left the diet, because he could not stand listening to your false words about yourselfs and others. And Niether can I. Right now I am on my way to France to stay there and rule my Duchy from there, atleast for a while. I cannot stand you, and I cannot understand you standing yourselfs.

So, as you know that I since long has claimed to be neutral in this conflict I am sure that you understand that I and Saxony will accept the peace proposed. I would also like to make clear before the diet that I will leave the Northen Alliance.

Good luck with your endless, tragical conversation in this room. Herr von Winkelstein will not return as ahving a representant here gives nothing, absolutly nothing. Other than perhaps pain to the poor man who has to bleed out of his ears because of your talking. Thank You.

Duke Friedrich I von Saxe-Wittenberg."

Prince Cour speaks to the diet
I have hear a letter from Charles VII, where he admit that he has made wrong at times, but so has the English. The sin Charles VII mentiones in his letter is the sin of pride, not anything else.
As the English calles his Majesty Charles VII as madman, and want him to be removed etc, then it is a very logical sollution that would solve everything, as the english has no reasons to fight then.

A investigation of the undertakings of France, all archives shall be opened for an independent Imperial State whom will look through the archives and see what the crown has made wrong, then his Majesty Charles VII will seek penance at the holy see, not at the english as the king of France are responsible to God and the holy mother church only.

As his oath at the coronation "I swear by the will of God almighty to rule France and serve the people and the holy mother church as long as i shall live". If he is found to be "Mad" as the english seem to beleive he will naturally be removed from office and a regency of guardians will be set during the minority of louis. But that is my opinon.

France is ready to seek penance for the wrongdoings they have done and then to move on. What the english has not understood at all is that Charles VII has not been the defacto ruler before the cease fire emerged. The Chancellor and the regency of guardians has the ultimate decision power untill Charles VII decides to denounce the councill, which he did not do untill then. Letters accusing him of lunacy does not improve the relations between France and England, nor the trust Charles VII once had for the english.

It is our opinion that he is not guilty of anything of what is accused, but to preserve peace we are willing to allow this humiliation to ensure peace.

Percival Pommigrannit, being quite new to politics cannot believe what he had just heard come out of a French mouth.

His jaw gapes and ink quill stop momentarily from thier scraping.

One minute he's totaly right and not responsible for the outbreak of war and now he seeks penance and acts contrite? can't these men see what he's up to? Heaven preserve us

Suddenly the sleepy Piero rises:"Finally peace has been achieved within the Empire, now the time has come to fight as one Empire of catholics against the Hussites, reclaiming Imperial lands from those darn heretics! Bohemia should revive, I think it is for the good of the Empire if Austria withdraws from Bohemia. Now, a paty needs wine, right? Luckily I still have a few barrels in my cellar, anyone care to join? Long live the Empire! And the Chianti..."

The doors of the Diet opens, and in comes a man followed by three guards behind him. Some of the men in the room looks suprised, some do not know who this is and some are so sleepy that they have not even noticed him. The man steps forward.

"Dear Gentlemen, I know that some are you are suprised to see me here, and I know some of you does not know who I am. Well, anyway, let me introduce myself, I am Duke Friedrich I von Saxe-Wittenberg, Elector von Sachsen. I now I have said that niether I or a representant of mine would come here for a while, but times has changed.

The reason I am here is because of the near war between France and England. England are threating to attack France. This is unacceptable. We cannot allow this to happen. The European balance are good as it are, if England would declare war upon France this can, or I am sure will changed. England is allready to bi according to me. The English King needs to be held back on his islands. If he grows much bigger the Federation will certainly make a threat towards the Empire, that is certainly unacceptable.

So, the Empire needs to aid France, and try to prevent The King of England to start a devestating war. But, I know that not everybody in this war agrees with me, and this Empuire cannot stand another war. Because of that I have a suggestion that I need you all Imperal States to sign.

He picks up a bunch of papers and makes sure that everybody revieves one.

---------------------------------

This document is written by Friedrich I von Saxe-Wittenber to prevent war and behold peace within the Empire if England declares war upon France.

Article I, The States of the Empire are free to chose whatever side they want in the War that may come to happen between England and France.

Article II, No battle may be on Imperal Territority. If so happend all Imperal states are obligated to declare hostile relations towards the attacker.

Article III, No Imperal Province can be occipied. If so happends all the other Imperal Armies will release the occupied Province.

----------------------------------

When the Duke sees that every body has read the paper, he continues.

"This paper must be sign, otherwise our dear Empire once again will be draged into war, and we do not want that."

Have you heard my humble request?I am deeply sorry, but it seems as though it was ignored. Christianity in the East is in grave danger! We need all of your help! Pleaseeee!

Von Loen rises.

I have a mild objection, more from the point of view from either France or England than the Empire. If our states are allowed to fight on the side of either of the two groups but we essentialy forbid them from taking any Imperial territory, we essentialy send in forces that they can not fight back. This would also make us even less unified if either side was to take any of our territory in an attempt to defend themselves as the supporters of England would be hesitant to take territory, even Imperial territory, from them. I believe that, until we have a new Emperor, we should stay out of this war, at least militarily - most of the Empire is in no state to war for quite some time anyways as almost all of the Empire has been fighting, if not in the Hungarian or Hussite rebelion then in the recent Imperial-Northern conflict.

He then turns to the Russian diplomat.

I appologise, but the Empire simply has nothing to give. Were this a time of peace we would offer support against the Muslim threat, but we have nothing to give. Even Cologne's economy is gone, loaned to other Imperial states who helped fight in our recent troubled times.

Duke Friedrich looks at Von Loen.

"Do you not understand the importance of this issue. France may become a vassal of England. Is that really what you want? The consecvenses of something like that would be huge. England would be very powerful, too powerful. We would not be able to handle him. The Empire needs to side now, immidiatly. That could prevent England from declaring a war.

Do you really want to let France down now, in his critical point. Remember that he has aided you not long ago.

Believe me, Cologne supports France with fear of the same thing - the Federation or England growing too powerful. I have specific orders from the Archbishop telling me to prevent England or their alliances from growing too powerful if at all possible.
But I am trying to keep in mind the fate of the Empire as well. If, for example only, Burgundy was against France for some reason and France started to "win" on the front and Cologne was supporting France as well, would the Archbishop not hesitate to take the territories back? I know not what he would actualy do, but I do know it would be a difficult choice.
For this reason we should hesitate to join in the war, at least until we have slightly recovered from our recent wars and rebelions and have an Emperor so that we may fight as one entity and avoid further internal disagreements, at least of the scale that would determine the fate of a fellow Imperial state.

"I am not sure that I have understood your word right. But if you mean that you are afraid for France to grow to big just as much as you are for England to do so I have got you right. But France are in no position to "win" this war. Even with our help.

I do not think that we have any choice here. We ahve to save France, to protect it. All of you have to understand what a important issue this is. Without France the whole European balace would collaps. We must keep it."

Duke Wilhelm Albrecht speaks:

"Duke of Saxony Bavaria will not sign such a thing for many reasons. Am i not mistaken it was the King of France who declared war upon the English this time?? I belive so, perhaps in the near future the King of France should try for peace instead of war. Bavaria will not sign this treaty. Also let us hurry and get the Imperial Elections over with i say we set a timeline and have a new emperor elected before the end of this month."

von Spanger speaks

While we support France's sovreignty, we beleive this issue should be delayed until the Empire is more stable.

If I'm not mistaken, there hasn't been a battle between England and France for about a year, so let's not count our chickens before they hatch.

When the new Emperor is elected, and the Bohemian issue is resolved, we will consider sending aid to France, but that may not be for many months.

Why?Please help us in any way...we need to save Christianity in the East before it is destroyed...by these insane muslims...please I beg for your help...

Frantz Dyck receives a letter from Bremen, reads it, and asks for permission to speak.

When that is granted, he rises and bows to the Steward and the Imperial Throne.

"Good sirs, I will agree with von Spangers words.

Duke Johann II believes the war between France and the Federation is of great importance, so great that it calls for an Imperial decision.
Likewise, the decision of whether or not Austria should inherit Bohemias title as elector should be decided upon by the new Emperor, not by this Diet.

In these troubled times, where the Empire has only recently ended a great war involving states both in and outside the Empire on both sides, we desperately needs an Emperor that all can support, or at least all can agree is electede in full accordance with the Golden Bull.
Should any man be able to question the legality of the Emperors election, this would perhaps cast the Holy Roman Empire in a new war, a thing I am sure none of us wishes for.

Gentlemen, I say let the existing electors meet and appoint a new Emperor, an Emperor whose guidiance we can turn to in questions like this with France and Moscows plea for help.

I am offcourse willing to offer Bremens view on these matters, but none here have the authority to decide upon these matters."

Due Friedrich looks at Wilhelm Albrecht.

"Dear Wilhelm Albrecht, who that ever started this war is not important anymore, and I myself is not sure that Engladn did so. Anyway, France needs desperat help. It is not only an action to help France, but also an action to help ourselves, the Empire. I could think it would be you that would not sign this suggestion of mine. Do you want to drag the Empire into war between Imperal states again? Have you not leared a lesson? If not everyone agrees with this I can almost promise you that the Empire will have one of these critical moments that we just have had."

Then the Duke turns towards von Spanger and Frantz Dyck.

"Dear Gentlemen, I agree with you, the Election of a new Emperor need to be, now, so that we can unite around one strong man. As you say this matter is of great, real great importance. Somethings need to be done. So now, let us now gather the Electors to elect the Emperor."
