Herr Ullrich Dyck rises.
"Honoured Emperor, honoured Steward, noble delegates.
I have yet to hear sufficient reason for declaring war upon Livonia. If the Empire is looking for a way to show the price of defiance, why not show an example of those states, that, while being members of the Empire and having a delegate in this Diet, have openly declared for all to hear, that they will fight the armies of the Emperor should war come.
I am offcourse speaking about Gelre, and before the Gelren delegate responds in anger, which I am sure he will do, I challenge him to deny that I speak the truth when I say, that Gelre has promised to fight against the armies of the Emperor, should he declare war on Livonia.
So, good Hendrik van Egmond, have you or have you not said, that the armies of Gelre will oppose the armies of the Emperor should he declare war upon Livonia?
Bremen does not feel that such a war is necessary, we do not feel theathened by Livonia, and that Kristiern Wasa has started calling himself King of all Germans is viewed more as a, admitted not very funny, joke, than a reason for declaring a war.
However, I once again says; we do not approve of this war, but should the Emperor deem it necessary, we will aid in any way possible."
