The Voivodal escort entered the city, and stopped outside the Hagia Sofia. The guards stopped outside of the Great Church, while Vlad entered the Church, giving his Sword to one of the guards.

He went in, and bowed before the Patriarch, kissing his Patriarchal Ring.

I believe you wanted to speak to me, your holiness? Let me know what's on your mind, and I will respond as well as I can.

Belisarius went to the house of Micrea for teaching him the military lesson, then he knocked. There was no answer, he got suspicious. He spoke to the guards,

Did anyone entered the building?

The guards shook their heads. Belisarius frowned as his gut feeling honed in the battle told him that something is wrong. He asked,

Is there guards on the other sides of the building? Have you checked it?

The guards gulped as he remembered that Belisarius had ordered that the rear be watched. They answered,

No, sir. What is the point in it? There is no door in back and it is all wall and only upper floor have windows.

Belisarius glared at them for forgotting a important rule of military, he spoke to them in stern tone,

I taught you better than this. Remember the enemy will always foul up the plan as soon they arrive? That is why they are called enemy. If you them a opening, no matter how difficult, they will take it. Always watch your rear as well as front and sides.

Then he turned and knocked the one last time. He listened carely then he broke down the door. He noticed the smoky condition of teh house. He ran to Micrea's room and saw the signs of attempted kidnapping and arson. He frowned then looked at the window and walked to it. He saw the loosen brick, and the signs in ground of the recent passage. He jumped down and rolled on the ground when he landed. Then he ran after the passage.

The party arrived for King Jean II. They looked for them, and the one said,

Where is the King?

Others shrugged and looked around and saw the ragged bunch of men. They looked at them with their months gape. A man whispered that the tale of the fishermen that said that the wild man called himself King Jean had came. Then they approached him,

Are you King Jean II of Cyprus? We are here to take you to Constantinople.

Then a man looked at the raft with the ouzzlement and asked,

Why don't you use your ship for transportation to Constantinople instead of this raft? Does this mean that the Cypriot navy is bad? You could have send for us to pick you up from Cyprus. Come, my majestry. We have to go to Constantinople.

Another asked,

Or that means you wanted to have fun with the raft and sailing across Meditterean? that seemd fun to me.

Then they left for Constantinople.

The party smiled upon seeing it. They went through the rebuilt manificant gate of St. Romanos and into the City. The first things the party noticed was the plentiness of the goods in the markets near the gate, beautiful nearly completed Hagia Sophia in distance, and the multiude of the ships in the water, in distance. There were order to the street, buildings, and services. It was obviously that it was all rebuilt recently but somehow, it seemed grandise and beautiful, and very modern at the same time. It almost seemed to be mixed city of ancient and modern. The party went further into Constantinople, and took a sight in the surrounding. The City seemed to be very busy, and there are still plenty of construction going on. When they arrived at the Great Market, they noted that there are plenty of goods in the markets, even exotics like jade, vase from Far East, spices of any kinds, silk, muslin, damcasus steel, and even the goods from North Sea. There are plenty of Orthodox and Catholic Churches, and all of them seemed to be beautiful. It was obviously the City is very prosperious city despite the destruction ten years previous. They arrived at Hagia Sophia. It was most beautiful man-made object they have seen. It was one of the wonder of the world. Then the party took King Jean II to the tour around the City, ending at the Great Palace.

A letter from Ragusa arrives

"My good friends before I go to Italy I have left my brother and my chief advisor until my business in Italy is finished. However before I left I thought I should ask why you have tried to control so much of the Balkan trade. From my perspective we had an agreement that outlined the proposal for the splitting of trade in half. Your attempts are seem to be anything but noble, and we were conserned at your very ative attempts to hinder our progress of trade alliances with the north. Please explain."

The King feels somewhat intimidated in dress as he is wearing what is basicly a peice of cloth, compared to the great purple robes of the Emperor.

(Sober now) The King Greets the Emperor, and start's off the Conversation by complimenting on the sheer beauty of Constantinople. After expressing his love of the city, Jean offers a invitation to Famagusta, and asks if the Emperor would like to discuss the details of the trade proposal made by the Emperor in his introductary letter.

Emperor answered with smile,

Thank you for complimenting the Constantinople. I rather proud of it myself. I would like to visit your fair island Cyprus. Thank you for invitation. Now, to business,

I propose that you sell us the Cypriot at 50% of price while raising the price of the wine to another countries. That way, your wine will make it way into most of corner of the world since Constantinople is a center of trade between the regions of Europe, Middle East, Black Sea, and even Far East. Thus, you will gain alot of profits, just by selling us the wine. I myself am particular to Cypriot wine. In return, we shall provide you your own dock and warehouse at here, Constantinople for your merchants' exclusive use. Also, we shall cut the tariffs and taxes on Cypriot merchants to 50% of price. We can also sell you the silks, the extremely rare amber, damascus steel, and jade at 50% price. We could also sign the non-aggression treaty for 5 years. Would this be acceptable? If so, then I shall draw up the treaty.

The Lone Rider

The two men put Mircea in a sack, and loaded it onto a wagon. They took the wagon throught the gate without getting any problems with the guards, and well outside the city, they rested in a small grove. Suddenly they could hear the noise of a horse, riding toward their direction.

I think we have to go, Tamac

Why? It's probably just a messenger.

No, a messenger doesn't ride out of the city at night.

How can you be so sure, Dan?

Because I'm smarter than you, fool!

The two men grabbed the sack, and dragged it along. Of course, it was Tamac that had to drag it. They crossed the road, and headed for the great forrest. However, they couldn't get away from the sound of horse shoes tramping against the ground.

Tamac!

Yes, sire?

Draw your sword.

While the sound of horseshoes came closer and closer, they managed to flee partially into the forrest. Mircea's mouth was bound, but he was still struggling. The sound of horseshoes suddenly stopped. Mircea used all of his last powers to kick, and he hit Tamac's hand causing a big Ahhh!! You stupid....
When suddenly, a man on horse rode against the two men. The man draw his Sword, and swung it against Dan, but Dan was an excellent fighter, and managed to answer the riders first attempt to kill.
While the rider turned and went for a next charge, Mircea had managed to untie himself. He used his legs to get his mouthbind off, and bit over a part of the rope tieing his hands, and crawled his way out of the sack. Tamac raised his Sword to strike, but Mircea managed to kick him in the knee, rolled around against Tamac, and stole his dagger. He took the dagger and drove it into his leg, causing another big pain.

As the rider rode between them again, Mircea ran aginast him, and threw himself onto the strangers horse. They rode away, being followed by Dan and Tamac, but then, suddenly, the rider stopped. He saw some greyish shadows some out of the tree's in front of him. and to the left, and to every side. He was surrounded. These men were armoured with spears, and were too dangerous for him to charge. One of the men shouted: "identify yourself!".

The rider took off his hood, and said:

I am Belisarius, general of the roman empire...

"I've heard enough" the man said. He steppes out in the moonlight, and said: "But what are you doing with my son? Why is he out here?" Belisarius noticed that it was Vlad Dracul himself.

Suddenly, they heard the footsteps of two men running after the rider. Tamac shouted "You're going straight to hell!", when suddenly an arrow hit him in his chest. "After you, Tamac" Vlad said.

Who are these men? Do you know them?

That is Tamac, and his friend Dan should be right around the corner. Those men are unseparatable. Not any longer thought. I guess Dan is around here somewhere.

But, how do you know them?

Those men has being on my neck ever since... as long as I remember. Dan is a member of the Danesti clan, a rival Walachian clan, trying to get in power. Tamac is a Hungarian, and is a close friend of the Danesti's. They are being paid by Bassarab, the head of the Danesti clan, to catch all of my kids, and bring them to him. Of course, they never succed. We have alot to speak about. Let's go back to my wagon.

The two men talked much, and drank the finest wine. Before they left, Vlad told Belisarius that he had to tell Caesar that Vlad had to go home, as the mercaneries hadn't been able to shut their mouths. He feared the Matthias knew about his order during the siege of Athens...
He also said that Mircea would stay in Constantinople for a little longer, atleast unless this new conflict was going on.

Mircea was glad to meet his father again, and gave him a hug before he left.

Now, you'll be right here in Constantinople, and wait for Nadia, ok?

ok Papa.

Vlad didn't manage to hide his concern for his coming wife.

A ship off the Ionian islands.

General della Rioja, the head of the military delegation sent to Constantinople by Castille sits below deck with a drained look on his face and a cold sweat running down his brow. He shivers violently as he mops his sodden brow with an equally soaked cloth. The creaking of wood under immense strain can be heard and a storm lashes agains the cabin windows as the boat rcks back and forth violently. The cabin door open and a young Major enters with a flagon of something strong to try and cure the General's stomach.

"General, I heard you were feeling a bit under the weather, so I brought you this flagon of liquor, maybe it will settle your stomach."

"I was never good on ships at the best of times, never mind during a storm. Thanks lad...what is your name?"

"Roger Gonzalez, sir, I was recently promoted to Major."

"Excellent Major. Could you tell me perchance how long we have..."

He pauses momentarily to be sick in a nearby bucket and wipe more sweat off his brow.

"My apologies...how long we have left on this voyage?"

"It will be no more than a couple of weeks sir."

"Oh mercy...well, thankyou once again for this flagon, and hopefully I will one day be able to repay your kindness."
