winner temporarily gains +1 to morale, and the loser temporary loses -1

If that is true, I think Athens should get +1 morale for the battle of Hellas, because we had land mil present as well as base defence, and we havent yet gone to peace with Byzantium.

At the Caliph's discretion. And I have not appointed any yet, the caliph ruling without the benefit of ulamas.

Actually josef, this brings up a good point in that for the longest time, there were only 3 Muslim players. Now, the field is filling up, excapt for nations that will never get played (and only serve to stymie driftwood's expansion :D ) like Teke, Kastamonu and Dulkadir. Should I begin to work up a more institutional Sunni establishment, similar to what drift did with the Orthodox?

Okay, guys. I realize that I haven't been doing much here for about two weeks. I've been pretty busy IRL, and I just can't get fired up for this RPG anymore. It's entirely my fault. I'm afraid that I have to resign Suzdal, because my heart's not in it anymore.

I've enjoyed my time here greatly. Neil, Drift, TheLotus, EM, Stormbringer, anyone I forgot to mention, all my peeps in the hizzouse, take it light, dogs. I'll be around, just not in this RPG. :) I should've wrapped it up when the heir committed suicide. Oh well.

Thanks for a great time. And good luck!

For it is Neil:

Please do, Neil. :) Could you also post the results of your reforms in your court-starter and... let's say nat stats, too, please? :)

BA, Josef, I have two questions.

One, on NatStats Russia's stats are listed as 3/0/2/2/2. Wasn't it supposed to have it's eco set to 0 and would begin regenerating when it was played again?
Yeah, BA already knows about this. An optimistic oversight on Storm's part, I feel. ;)

Two, I noticed Neil has received +1 tech for the annexation of Thrace. I thought you only received +1 tech for annexing a country in it's entirety, or is it just it's capital?
BzAli's answer (above) is spot-on. :)

about ulamas:

I didnt start such a thing when i was the caliph since there are many many ulamas not like with christian Cardinals. And Ulamas are not apointed by the Caliph, they are apointed by the local guys.

Actually i tried to start some ulama system but noone responded to my posts then. (i actually was the only active moslem for a while)

So, if the enemy agress to give up his capital, you get a permanent tech boost, even if the country still exist.

that what i said when i took novgorod but the mods disagreed then, they said that i have to fully annex them. They anoying thing is that i was able to fully annex them but i didnt since i think it is evil to annex major stats like novgorod, it ruins the roleplay possibilities.

A few general questions about the Papal elections:
1- What if a primate nation is NPC?Like the Primate of Sclvia is Poland however Poland is NPC...so should the Primate be next in line? Hungary?

2-Who is the Primate of Iberia?

3- How many nominees can there be? 3? Also, when does the voting begin?

Sorry and thanks.:)

1) That's JG's call. (Actualy the Primate would be the eldest, highest ranking person in a certain area - diocese is the wrong term, since that's what a Bishop is in charge of - but I digress... ;) )
2) Castille holds that honor.
3) The number of candidates is practicaly unlimited and voting begins when people feel like doing so. There's a time limit, so I wouldn't worry too much. (Generaly we don't like to part with our nations too much so too many candidates isn't much of a problem. :) )

sorry to be a hassle, but things for the Mamelukes are kind of on standby until further notice about the major-minor applicants comes.

A tricky one, Bagric, because if we allowed players to waive outstanding loans as a rule, unscrupulous players (not your good self, of course ;)) would use it as a means of donating cash without having to suffer the negative effects of waiting for it to be repaid.

Since you've gone to the trouble of asking, I think it'd be OK if you waived this one loan, although when you post confirmation of it in Nat Stats, can you make a point of saying that it's a special case OKed by the mods, please? :)

Crazy C, for it is he,
???

Castille has gone to DLR, but... lemme see... that still leaves Venice, Poland and Lithuania, IIRC.

To be honest, CC, I'm not 100% sure about the other applicants' suitability for the big majors. You've been around for a while, and staying power is always something that impresses me. But I've got to be honest, mate, you've not the world's most prolific poster. Can you give a cast-iron guarantee that you'll be more active if you were to get a role closer to the action?

My other concern is that if you ditch the Mamelukes and take on one of the major Christian blocs, that it'd damage the status quo we've got between Islam and Christianity. If you think you can take on a role like Ven, Lith or Pol, could you first please resolve any of the loose ends you have as the Mamelukes?

Josef :)

not quite yet. Part of the treaty was to sign a non-aggresion pact between Genoa and the Timurids not to go to war.

Therefore a white peace is signed with a non-aggresion pact between Genoa and the Timurids. Arnou please include this on the treaties page as a Non-aggresion pact between Genoa and the Timurids.

And Lars please verify this one.

The Caliph of Islam has ended the jihad against all nations, save Venice.

After all, Islam is almost safe now, since most of those nations recognize that the Muslims have a right to exist, and that they will not be slaves.
