An Agreement Between the Zayyanid Caliphate (Algiers) and the Mameluke Sultanate

[1] In recognition of the holy nature of the Mameluke war against the eastern island nations, the Zayyanid Caliphate agrees to loan the Mameluke Sultanate 1000 ducats (1 eco point).

[2] Said monies will be repaid within six months of cessation of hostilities between the Mameluke Sultanate and the Islands of Cyprus and Rhodes.

[3] Until such time that repayment is made, the Mameluke Sultanate agrees to make available, each quarter year, goods in the following amounts: One galley's hold of silk; one galley's hold of precious goods such as gold, learned books, or frankincense; and three galleys' holds of supplies material to the building of naval vessels.

[4] The Zayyanid Caliphate agrees to harass and take prize any ships of Christian nations that seek to resupply the islands should such ships traverse or seek to water along the Barbary Coast.

[5] Ships from the Zayyanid Caliphate will have the right to anchor and resupply in Egyptian ports, without paying any extra fees. They will also have the right to recruit manpower in all the coastal cities of Egypt.

[6] Upon repayment of debt in accordance with the terms above, both Sultanates concur that this agreement is void. At such time, both Sultanates agree to negotiate further agreements favorable to each in accordance of Islamic Law.

Upon confirmation by chris8b, the Sultanate of Mamelukes happily accept the loan of 1 eco from Alger (The Zayyanid Caliphate).

hi all,
NPC means No Player Country right?
if so, it would be cool if I could sign up as the player for Cologne. It seems like its a nice 1 province country perfect for a newbie :). Also, why hasnt anyone taken England and Sweden yet? Not that I want them but shouldnt they be played?

England is not played because it is perhaps the largest and most powerful role in the game. It will only be given to players who are veterans of The RPG and not power gamers only interested in stats.

Sweden isn't played often for a few reasons. It was beaten brutally by a confederation led by Pommeran and lost territory to Bremen, Pommeron, Denmark, and is now forced to give half its eco points to Pommeron as it is now a vassal. It can also be a little lonely in the north if a few of the neighboring players drop out. There is not much point in being Sweden if there is no Russia or Denmark nearby and your only neighbors are fierce supporters of your overlord.

Chilli, but Both Denmark and Russia are being played and I dont think either are big fans of Pommern. :p

Flame, to tell you the truth. Sweden would be a great beginners country. You are not completely helpless, but you are by any means a super power. You are also surronded by nice, experienced players who will help you along if need be.

Is this an attempt at getting me into a helpless country that needs a player but noone wants it so you'll have to give it to a helpless newbie? :p
Or is it just a reccomendation? :)
Honestly, I would be just as fine with Sweden as with Cologne, probably I know more about Sweden but since it's larger and is currently not played, I can imagine there is some work to do and maybe a newbie isn't the right person.
