No probs :)

One of Serbia's two econ is paid to Venice as a vassalage tribute. That's an on-going thing that can't be regenerated normally.

As for the other econ point - the one loaned to the ERE - realms don't regenerate loaned econ points - they have to be repaid first by the debtor. (Full details in the 'loans' section of the RULES thread).

If a country loans out 1 eco, it doesn´t regenerate that 1 eco until it is repayed by the nation it was loaned to in the first place. So, unless the ERE posted that it had repayed the 1 eco to serbia, serbia didn´t have any eco to loan out to you, I´m afraid.

Sorry about the many questions, but I've got another one.

A and B are at war with C.

A has dedicated 4 land mil to a battle. B has dedicated 4 land mil to the battle as well.

A has 4 morale and 5 tech while B only has 3 morale and 4 tech. If they are in the battles as allies, which modifiers will be in place?

Also, on the battle system.

Nation: tech/morale = modifier x number of dice = final modifier

Venice: +1/-1 = 0 x 5 dice = 0
Spain: 0/-1 = -1 x 10 dice = -10

Rolls:
...and here's where the dice rolls and modifiers are combined.

Nation
-> dice roll + final modifier = modified dice rolls

Venice
-> 20 + 0 = 20
Spain
-> 55 - 10 = 45

The parts in red confused me. What is the difference between number of dice and dice roll? How would Spain obtain a dice roll as high as 55? Exactly how many dice are involved?

Battle modificators only count for a single nation. In your example, A would have a modificator of -1/0, while B would have -2/-1.

For your red markings:

number of dice = amount of dice rolled = number of land/sea mil in battle for this nation. The modifier counts for EVERY single Dice (or mil, if you want). So, every dice roll is multiplied with the modifiers.

dice roll = this is the sum of all dice rolls. Spain rolled 10 times, and the sum of the ten rolls is 55.

Meaning that A, having modifiers of -1/0, totalling -1 (add them together, and don't go lower than -3), with 4 LM, would have a total modifier of -1 x 4 = -4, and would thus roll 4 dice (for having 4 LM) and subtract 4.
B would have a modifier of -3 x 5 = -15, and would roll 5 dice, subtracting 15.

As the two nation are allied, their final scores are added togethe, and compared to the enemys score to determine the outcome.

Is it appropriate if your ruler gains knowledge of a juicy tidbit, via a roleplayed PM to leak that information out to parties he feels need to our should know?

Great, that's all I need...

Byzantium will be fine, Bagric. (Just watched a great program on the Byzantines' use of Greek fire :)).

Please once again visit the National Statistics thread and make a post informing our resident Nat Stats man BzAli what your new realm is and also what name you have chosen for it's head of state. Now you're ready to post your stupendous court thread!

Please also adopt the avatar of Byzantium.

We ask that you do not use instant messaging programs like MSN, ICQ and AIM to discuss deals and alliances for the purposes of the game. Doing so generally leads to animosity, mistrust and a lowering of role-playing standards. Unless an RPG Steward is trying to contact you in order to help you understand the game better, it would be better for all concerned if you politely avoid talking about your role in the RPG with other, active players. The forum’s message-posting and private messaging (PM) systems should be all you’ll ever need to play the game.

That's fine. :) In fact, common sense governs this one. Let's say I tell you a secret in confidence. At the moment I do, it's only me and you that knows what it is. But what's to stop you then borrowing a loud-hailer and going into the town centre and broadcasting it to all and sundry? Not much, but for the purposes of the game, breaking a confidence like that might form the basis of a casus belli...

Bz, if you'd be so kind, sir, as to set the Palatinate to NPC and to set the player of Byzantium as myself, I would be much obliged.

By the way, my head of state is Theodoros III.

Respectfully, Byzantium went NPC nearly two weeks ago. I'm not certain what the standard time is for an NPC nations stats to reset, but I imagine that six months would do it, especially since to my knowledge the NPC nation does not receive any stat changes during those two turns.

In terms of Byzantium's specific case, had Hamilcar continued playing Byzantium up until today, they would have two more econ, thus they would have paid off this loan to the bank and have one econ in addition(Not sure how this factors in with the plague).

So to my question. I'm requesting clarification on the decision to not reset Byzantium's stats, and further guidelines for how long a nation should remain NPC before their stats are reset so that we may all better enjoy the game. Danke.

Aragon's votes are Castille's to cast whenever you want to. :)

It was an error that they weren't reset. Mine, in fact. :D Bz sent me a PM about the matter and hopefully they'll be visibly reset soon.

It's very hard to be able to say what the point is where we draw the line between resetting and not resetting, but Byzantium was definitely on the 'reset' side of the line.

BTW, that avatar is so you, Bagric. :D

Thanks, Hamil, that's fine. Your Papal candidate is greased up and ready to fire off - figuratively speaking.

Sorry, Lars, that isn't possible. The DoW will need to be issued by you upon your return - this turn or next.

Hi, I'd like to join - as the Duke of Savoy, if possible (allright, Piemonte, for those, who likes that name more).

You said I should write something, why I feel myself good for it...
err... as you see, this is my very first post in this forum, so I'm not that overly experienced... and I don't speak English very well...
now some pros: I have experience with pen and paper RPGs, I learned history and I have enthusiasm :)

I think, Savoy would be great, because it's the vassal of Genoa, so I could get a little help form form my liege lord in exchange for my money ;)

uhh... sorry
The National Stats page showed an independent Savoy-Piemonte. But I see now, just under Burgundy: "annexation of Savoy"
Sorry!
Is Piemonte choosable?
Or you swallowed the whole??

EDIT
Got the answer - just looked in your court.

So: Piemonte
:)
Is it possible?
