GRAND LEDGER

ledger.jpg
Quite possibly the most boring threads on the entire Europa Universalis boards, the Grand Ledger threads contain all the old questions and answers posts from the RPG's Inscriptions and General Questions and National Stats threads.

This material has only been archived because of it's potential use in clearing up disputes that occur with the RPG. I strongly advise the casual reader to find something altogether more interesting to browse. ;)

BA, Josef: You guys know how to take proper screenshots? ;) .

I took the liberty of drawing up a EU2 scenario for use as a map as of Oct-Dec 1426. I've already sent it to Josef and BA, if you guys need anything or it's somehow unsuitable, let me know. I would have taken a screenshot myself and sent it but I'm not quite sure how you guys got a full capture of all of that territory at that resolution. If Lars is working on one and his is better than mine, feel free to use that one :p .

Cheers.

EDIT: Josef, I got an error from your mail address m8.

BA
PGD: Sibir's event was never given an expiration date. Just checking to make sure it was not a permanent morale.

I'm very sorry BA m8. Could you assume, if I'm remiss enough to do this type of cock up again, that the effects run for 1 year please?

Thanks

PGD the Reb :D

Friedrich II of Saxony just signed this treaty:
-------------
1 - This treaty is valid for as long as Friedrich II, by some called the Great, rules Saxony second only to God.

2 - In order to increase trade, benefitting the people of Saxony, no merchants from any nation member of the Hansa Trade Union will ever pay higher taxes than native merchants of Saxony.

3 - In addition, should the taxes paid by native merchants of Saxony be higher than those paid by Hansa merchants in Hansa states, merchants of the Hansa states will in Saxony pay the same taxes as in the Hansa states, no more.

Resignation

Regrettably I’m forced to announce my resignation from the game due to lack of time. My mandatory service as lower officer in His Majesty’s Swedish navy is taking all my time, I don’t feel it’s fair to occupy such a large country as Castille and be so inactive as I am. I wish my successor good luck, may the game proceed!

Duc d’Aosta

O King of Terrors, whose unbounded Sway
All that have Life, must certainly Obey;
The King, the Priest, the Prophet, all are Thine,
Nor wou'd ev'n God (in Flesh) thy Stroke decline.
My Name is on thy Roll, and sure I must
Encrease thy gloomy Kingdom in the Dust.
My soul at this no Apprehension feels,
But trembles at thy Swords, thy Racks, thy Wheels;
Thy scorching Fevers, which distract the Sense,
And snatch us raving, unprepar'd from hence;
At thy contagious Darts, that wound the Heads
Of weeping Friends, who wait at dying Beds.
Spare these, and let thy Time be when it will;
My Bus'ness is to Dye, and Thine to Kill.

You're not forced to pay it back, but if you hold it longer than necessary, you may be hit with an event (high interest rates or something).

Creation of the Principality of Albania

In accordance with his promise to the Duke of Ragusa, and so that none may accuse him of warmongering or avarice for land, Sultan Murad II hereby grants Albania it's independence on the following conditions:

In peace

  • Albania shall be ruled by a Prince-Regent
  • The Prince-Regent shall owe complete fealty to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire as his overlord and sovereign
  • The Prince-Regent shall pay one-half of his income as tribute
  • Should the Prince-Regent die with heirs, the Sultan must approve the succession
  • Should the Prince-Regent die without heirs, the Sultan may select a new Prince-Regent
  • All trade will be directed to Thessalonica or another city of the Sultan's designation
  • The heirs of the Prince-Regent shall be raised at the Sublime Porte and serve the Sultan, in order to gain experience in the arts of statecraft.

In war

  • The Prince-Regent will enter into no foreign alliances, commitments, agreements, or wars without the Sultan's express permission.
  • Should the Sultan go to war, either offensively or defensively, the Prince-Regent will immediately declare war in support of him.
  • The Prince-Regent will grant military access to the Ottoman Empire and any of its designated allies, such as the Devout Alliance of Allah.
  • An attack upon the Prince-Regent shall be considered an attack on the Sultan.

Albania's stats should be [1/1/4/4/2(1)].

Sibir spend his peacetime regeneration eco point on land mil

I admit that i'm not the best when it comes to posting...i guess that I just think that as a christian ooc I will be able to post more from a christian perspective in a christian country.

I have been alot more active lately and am looking forward to getting more involved in the game. i love the history and there are so many great minds for it here. I will be able to guarentee that i will be more active again in the future.

I've tied up any loose ends at the Mamelukes and if its cool with you then i'd like to move to Poland.

cc
OK, CC, Poland is yours. :)

It would give me pleasure to see you prove my doubts about your game to be wrong!

Presumably you know the [re] inscriptions drill, so I won't bore you with the speech: New realm and HoS name to BA and avatar switch to Poland's, please. :)

I understand if it would be denied, as I understand shifting nations isnt popular, but I have played as Algier for a while now and if CC gonna change to Poland could I play as the shia sultan of Cairo then?
Well, if you really want to, Yoghurt... you're right, you've gone the distance as Algiers and that's not to be sniffed at. :)

The Mamelukes, you say? Sure thing.

I take it you're equally familiar with the procedure. ;)

I believe I regenerated one econ this turn, bringing my econ up to a full 2.

I don't mind if I've missed a rule though.

I've moved to Poland and Yoghurt will be moving into the Mamelukes. My HoS will stay the same as the last guys.

Folks,

Birger Jarls's 1420s-era avatar collection can now be found here, where it will remain archived and stickied for your avatar pleasure forevermore.

He has also very kindly given permission for us to convert the thread into an HTML page. Anyone fancy the job? If so, please reply in the Asylum. :)

One condition is that I promised BJ that we'd include a credits section dedicated to the avatars' artists, who are: Birger Jarl, Korath and Mad King James.

Either way, I'll be putting a permanent link to the new avatars page in the Recommended Links section, shortly.

Josef :)
