The Swiss Guards by the door straightens in official poses, and in walks a man in his late 50's.
He is dressed in the robes of an archbishop, and supported by a young priests, he slowly walks across the floor, bowing and nodding respectfully at the cardinals present, before he falls to his knees in front of the Papal Throne.
He reaches for the Papal Ring, and presses it to his lips.
The he starts to speak, but is ovwercome with emotion to finally be here, in the very heart of the Roman Church. He clears his throat and starts again.
"Holy Father, Papa, Vicar of Christ.
I come here to burden you, not because I wish to, but because I and the people of Bremen require your aid.
I have prayed days and nights, and I have written to the primate of the Diocese of Germania, but time has run out, and before any more disaters befall the people of Bremen, I, on behalf of my herd, asks you to call down the dreadfull excommunication on Duke Johann III and his family.
Holy Father, that man is an affront to all we hold holy.
He has claimed the throne of Bremen, allthough all know that said throne belongs to the prince-archbishop of Bremen, from whom is was taken by force in 1362.
His own mother threathened to imprison me, unless I crowned the unholy man duke of Bremen, and since his coronation, Johann III has continued in his vile ways.
Father, he lies to his priest during confession, and he often finds excuses for not attending mass.
His own father was struck down by God Allmighty during the plague, but it appears the son has learned nothing.
Holy Father, I beg you, please stop him before it is to late, before he drags all the innocent men, women and children of Bremen to Hell with him."
