"los isleños" means the islanders?

and what would be a word to name those in mainland Aragon? as in opposed to the ones in the Baleares or Sicily.

The Baleares were under arab domination in the pre-1419 time period?

(I'm reading your AAR right now BTW)

Also if you are playing as Aragon, given the lack of events past the 1500's I tend to get 'creative'. I usually give myself a core on Langudoc province under the pretense that Narbonne (or in Spanish and Catalan, Narbona) was the capital of the Visigothic kingdom Septimania and since the Kings of Spain and Aragon claim descent from the Visigoths, they have claims on their old capital of Narbona (If you think that it's outlandish that they would physically claim land based on the ancient and early medieval Visigoths, well it's true that it happened. The Kings of Castile claimed the Canary Islands because they claimed it was once part of the Kingdom of Visigoths even though it wasn't)

I think that after the Spanish wedding i switch to Spain, so i will have a lot more interesting stuff to write about :) However, i might stick to Aragon and attempt a conversion of the whole Mediterranean in the name of God.

what would be some noble Aragonese names?

would their names be italian if they were from Sardinia or Sicily or Malta?

was there any reason to believe there was some animosity between the italian islanders and the Iberians on the peninsula?

Generally when a foriegn noble takes a title in some other place, they take that country's version of that name. Charles when he became regent & co-king of Castile was called Carlos. Then again why would the King of Aragon have an Italian name ;)

As for animosity between the two, the Aragonese and Catalans treated their Sardinian subjects rather poorly. When they campaigned against the native Sard Giudicati from 1323 to 1419 they where quiet brutal, they often ignored the Sardinians christianity and enslaved thousands of them and sent them through the extensive Mediterranean slave trade (You wheren't allowed to actively enslave other Catholics). Err I don't know much about Sicily and Malta though.
