Playing Aragon, I managed to become Spain. But I was wondering about some things. If Naverra is annexed by her northern neighbor, can I still gain basque culture? (If so, in what ways?)They were my vassels ,but some event took them away. Also, what shields can Aragon hope for. Another question is Aragon going to have better names for colonies?(Aragon if not a part of Spain gains an early explorer and can make it to The West Indies. ) My first colony in the New world was New Messina instead of something Spanish.Feel free to add questions about Aragon. Answers also, please.:D

- I don't believe that Spain has the option of gaining Basque culture. Unless you want to "cheat", of course. Historically, I don't think the Basques ever really accepted being under Spanish rule (I think there still might be a little disagreement going on today), so this sounds pretty historical.

- I'm also not sure if Aragon/Spain will gain any cores over the rest of Spain (since I've never played as them). Beyond that, Spain might get a few in the Netherlands if events unfold historically, but I don't think they'll get any others, beyond the sorta-cores from Tordesillas.

- Usually, colony names for ahistorical colonizers or ahistorical colony locations are based off of your current provinces. I.E. you'll see a lot of Fort Brandenburgs or New Warsaws. New Messina is taken from your Sicilian province. I'm guessing that the game still sees you more as Aragon than as Castille (the historical Spain). If you were still Aragon when you founded the colony, then there's your answer.

There's quite a lot of trouble in the Basque areas, there's been terrorism for years and years. Think Israel/Palestine on a smaller scale(Basques want independence, got nothing to do with religion, but still violent)

It is complicated to get "basque", and only possible as ARG. You must inherit NAV in 1479 and Foix may no longer exist (in your case, they probably inherited them), then you have a good chance, that event 111005 fires for you. As ARG you should in any case get SPA, but not in 1476 (basque!). The best way to achive that, is to reduce CAS to a small country, vassilize it and annex it after you have inherited NAV, then as SPA you recieve their colonization bonus, ARG has none. Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no way that ARG gets the shields of CAS.

Except that you'll get Granada and Gibraltar for the Catholic Kings, and you should get the Canaries from the treaty of Alcacovas.
