Aragon gone - Can Spain still form?

In my latest AGCEEP game I was able to annex Aragon.
Will it not existing cause Castile to not form Spain on its own or will the events still fire?

Basically, 142013 (Castile) event has to fire, or you are not at war, the year is 1490 and the event 111025 (Aragon forms Spain) hasn't fired.
