After I got my Italy game rolling along pretty well, I decided to detour to a project I started to work on long ago...A game as Arab Federation!

I have gone to England and moved their demo slider to PA(and returned it to full demo after) and released Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, and Kuweit. I also released their puppet status and banned from alliance(and booted Iraq, Oman and Yemen as well). I did the same for Syria and Lebanon from France's holdings. Now the Middle East is free of Western influences !

My issue is this though... The IC is horrible :p I know Lebanon and Syria get some offmap ICs via the Vichy event( I will duplicate this amount) but, what should I give to Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan(if anything) without breaking things or being too gamey ?

P.S. I had to go this route to ensure UK didn't go to war and lose their peacetime IC malus. Sinkiang was used to transfer key provinces to(control and liberate) via save file modding, so the war only lasts one day and no annexing occurs in these new territories. I now have the option to DOW the remaining areas of these countries (with my non-existant army) and capturing their tech teams...or is that TOO gamey :) ?

No feedback on this at all ?
You see, the smaller ME nations in the area all have between 5-8 IC(from 3-8 of this offmap), Egypt had 15(10 offmap), while Arab Federation has a total of 5 with 0 offmap ICs :/ Please remember, the bulk of Palestine, 2 provinces of Syria, and all of Lebanon are still in existence at this point.

At the very least, someone point me to where the file is that sets up these smaller countries as they are released. You see, Arab Fed. was listed as revolt = 0(revolt.txt) and needed three minor corrections to be able to liberate them. I have forgotten where the guidelines/setup for the countries are located so I can tweak it :)

P.S. I thought about just adding the totals from this area and making that my magic IC number but, I was hoping to find a file in existence and just uncommenting it :p

Well your IC is horrible as the industry of those area's really was horrible. Well, maybe egypt had some industry but not the type you would use to build armies and fleets with.

Anyway, i would give the Arab Federation made up out of Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq(what about Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman and Yemen?) about 46 or 50 IC total, which is huge. You can never expect it to compete with Italy, that would be ridiculous.

Its amazing its so close to Spain though.

bbasgen - check your revolt.txt file. There exists a country called, Arab Federation. I am trying to set them up as a *starting* country. Of course, this does require ~month of game time to pass to actually set them up. The problem is, there is leaders, ministers, and tech teams data for the game but, no actually country data(starting materials, off-map IC, etc) !!

I would think playing a NEW country would be a little more appealing to everyone here :)

lionhead- I will want Oman, Yemen, Sauda Arabia, Iraq, and even Kuwait as my enemies to be conquered not just given at the start. Also, this allows my tech teams to improve via conquest. I gave via demand (and acceptall) Yemen it's full cores from UK and Oman was given Dubai and Doha. Note if you will, no remaining presence of UK or France in the Arabian peninsula land mass. All countries in the area have been liberated and puppt status released. What they(UK) do maintain however, is some guarantees of independence(Oman, Yemen, Iraq, and Sauda Arabia)

I am attaching the modified revolt.txt info here, you can compare to yours to see the few minor changes made.

Now who knows the exact location of the file that sets up the countries ( like with Syria, et al, being given offmap ICs) ?

And lastly, once my tweaks are completed without any/minimal gamey moves, who would like me to upload the save game ? :)

The Arab Federation blows ass. Not only is it's IC pathetic but it doesn't even have enough resources to support what little IC it does have. To make matters worse it doesn't have a core over the Suez so it loses all the manpower outside of Egypt. Not worth it IMHO.

Oerdin- That is because they are incomplete for their country setup and I added Suez as an optional core( gave it to them as well from UK). My reasoning for this is simple, why would a sovereign nation allow such a split in the middle of their country no matter how much money UK spent building the dang thing. Besides, it's a spear to the heart of the country for both supplies and manpower if they are allowed to keep it.

So don't dismiss ARA yet, they just need the last few tweaks to finish their creation and they can be viable.

I think what you're trying to do is interesting. But I'm not able to help really, aside from pointing you to some cool Arab sprites in Puma's workshop over on the DMP site. If you're interested I'll send you the link after I dig around for it.

I would imagine that you'll be able to use your oil to prop up your dismal economy. More oil awaits you in Persia, which is who I'd invade first. Good luck.

I would like to point out here that the canal was dug under French investment(The majority shareholder in the company was France while Egypt had large shares also) via a 99-year lease of the land upon opening while the British saw it as threat and tried to sabotage the project.

I wouldn't dare dispute what you said here. Being a fan of history, I can honestly say this is one bit of history I have not directly pursued. It is a little strange(to me) that France would be the large investor instead of the British though.

Anyhow, I have finished my tweaks for getting the ARA as a functioning nation. Been busy with some things so haven't progresses too far yet. It does make me consider an AAR though :)

A quick view of what I have gotten started. The country officially starts on Jan.17, the quickest I can release and get it going. I did switch to Austria as their liberator :)

P.S. I started at war with Lebanon, and Palestine. Austria *donated* 2 '18 INF and a '18 CAV to kick start the army.
