Hello there,

I'm playing a very nice Aq Qoyunlu game at the moment, and I was wondering going for the achievement.

This is the current situation:

Armenia is a vassal, and Ottos are allied.

First war against QQ was a success, because I fed Candar to the Ottomans for favours, and was able to call them in. They did mind a bit that I ate the Turkish beyliks whole, but it's under control (+165 relations with them due to an event).

The tricky part for the achievement is that I have a truce until 1477, and the achievement has to be done before 1478.
QQ are allied with Gilian (yellow-ish Persian state) and Fars, so no-CB war is possible. But then the issue is that QQ is too big to eat. Also, if I no-CB, I will probably get a coalition.
Breaking truce is also possible, but creates an even bigger coalition (and costs many more admin points).

What would you recommand as a course of action?

PS: I took Offensive ideas first and filled out 3 slots. I got 2 6-shock generals for it, on top of the scripted 5-shock Uzun Hasan. I feel OP now. :p

Revert back to pre 1.23, it's easier then imo since QQ is incredibly weak that patch. You could also just truce break him, since you also need him to not exist which you probably won't get in that time.

Preventing the ottomans from bordering the Mamluks may have been a mistake, as it will probably result in the Ottomans dissolving the alliance earlier than you want.

If QQ can't be eaten in one war, and you want to continue playing past 1478, you at probably better off doing the achievement later unless some other countries decide to help you out by eating QQ land.

I can't remember if it's possible to force QQ to give Ganja to someone else.

Coalition? You don't have time to worry about coalitions. I used 2 truce-breaks to get the achievement by 1473, though a more attentive player might've used less. No CoC, so no tribal buffs for me.

If you move fast and get lucky on siege rolls, and perhaps if their forts are mothballed and they have no allies, it might still be just possible for you, with truce-breaking.

It's very helpful to take fort provinces in the peace deal to avoid having to siege them again... you know you need multiple wars in quick succession, after all. Wars can last years due to sieges, and you only have 34 of them. I took Tabriz in the 1st war.

You should probably not have blocked off Mamluks. Letting them take land from QQ themselves, or getting lucky and allying them and calling them for promised land would've helped. Might get lucky and have Ajam attack, though didn't happen with me.

There's clearly enough for a fun coalition war here. I've allied all three of Ottomans + Mamluks + Ajam, otherwise the coalition would've fired already.

This achievement is basically a speed challenge where you throw the save away after. Fire your Golden Age, accrue corruption for cash and unrest, get enormous AE with everyone in the region. Or get very lucky.

Going for the Achievement basically kills your run. So if you want to continue for longer than 1478 don't go for it.
Or you could make a backup of your save before going for the achievement and once you got it go back to the older save.

I'm currently on an AQ run myself, and have managed to keep the Ottoman alliance despite cutting off all of their non-Balkans expansion routes, converting to Orthodox and aggressively expanding into Sunni territory. A fellow Sunni of the Hanafi school should have no trouble in that regard.

You can also make “ QQ not exist” by releasing nations and giving back provinces, right? So no need for monumental AE even when/if trucebreaking. Release Iraq, trucebreak and feed Iraq its cores and whatnot, trucebreak again, take tabriz and give the rest to iraq or somebody else

Blocking off the Mamelukes was indeed a mistake. :(
