In theory, yes. But the problem is in the way that gavelkind distributes provinces with (seemingly) no rhyme nor reason. Instead of nice little sub-kingdoms/duchies forming, you are just as likely to see a son who is King Castile and owns a handful of provinces scattered all over Iberia. The task of coding better logic for that is apperently a mamoth one so I'm extremely nervous about it. Not that I've given up on the idea, but I'd like to find a more reliable way for the breakup to result in compact, logical mini-realms.
-Fatamids still break up very early (was around 1070 for me).
I can do some more tweaking the chances of that happening, although perhaps it was just an (epected) anomaly in your game? I'll wait to see some more reports to see if that's a trend or just a fluke.
-Crusade fired 1079 to Alexandria (arent these still be callled approx 20 years too early?).
The first crusade should happen sometime between 1075 and 1100 and is *very* likely to be Jerusalem, Antioch or Alexandria (with odds of it happening being in that approximate order, depending on in-game circumstances) so 1079 is certainly within that range.
-Muslims seem pretty weak still (cant they be given horse archers please.
Some of them do now get free horse archers. That's a new event that will probably need some tweaking to fine tune its mtth. It could also relate to the new recruitment rates being a bit more favourable for the Christians than used to be the case. We'll keep tweaking until we get it right. (Oh the joys of beta!
)
-Cumans and Prechengs got hammered. Byz had taken 10 Cuman provinces and Poland had 9 Precheng ones by 1080.
That's the region that we've begun (as of this past week) to really focus on so look for more changes to help that situation siin.
-Byz seems pretty stable (i didnt notice any rebellious vasslas).
Could be the ruler? Anyway...more stuff en route for them and it will be interesting to see how they manage on an average long-term basis.
-I didnt notice any D-Day amphibous assaults, so those sea changes seem to be helping.
wOOt!
