Approx. how many vassals do you regularly get???

In most games, I probably get as many vassals as possible, as I avoid using the cheats, but I can only get those that I'm in close proximity to.... When I'm Holland, I therefore get nice Hessen, Kleves, The Palatinat, Hannover, SOMETIMES Wuertemburg Thuringen and Baden, and really rarely, Saxony/Bradenburg/Helvetia...

How many do YOU normally get...?

I used to also, as soon as ten years passed, but then you don't get their taxes anymore, you don't get support anymore for wars, etc.

Try leaving them... See what happens...

I'm saying I don't bother with vassalizing sicne I prefer to rule their lands myself.

i like to vassalise during mid game, when i have money to spend on diplomacy and provided that i have a leader with good diplomatic ability. this eventually leads to political annexation after a few rounds of alliance renewals and more royal marriages. in the beginning its cheaper to have a war, but when you start concentrating on the economy, trade and exploration/colonisation it makes more sense to go the peaceful route. its a bit of a longterm strategy, but tpeace works its dividends.

As a catholic power the BBC vassal allliance i.e Bayern Baden Cologne, ©Isaac Brock is a must .
Then after that Venice. If Hungary reappears they're a good choice as well

Keeping the lands for yourself also means controlling them...

The only thing that drives me absolutely NUTS is other nations waging a war with you and cutting up if not annexing your vassals!!!

In my current game (check out my AAR ) I've vassalized Scotland, Hannover, Brandenburg, Cleves, the Teutonic Order, and what was left of Denmark. I then dip annexed each and every one of them 10~15 years later.

There's no real point in vassalizing nations when they can be annexed. Vassalizations are very tedious and if you're not pjcrowe I don't think you'd have any

well, sometimes you dont want to fight, especially with very loyal allies with good relations. just seems wrong to kill 'em.

For me, in EU1, vassalizations are only a necessary step in order to diplo-annex my neighbours.

Better half-way, and trustworthy to only you than yours, but with loads of rebels!!!

But when countries have vassals who hate them, ... I don't understand that rubbish!!! I hate seeing that!

I don't even know how to vassalize...I have gotten the relations up to +200 and can't seem to do it?!
