Appointing women to posts?

I began noticing in an Ireland game that my imported brides can't be appointed to council positions. I got to looking, and it seems even my local female courtiers can't be appointed.

This was always the case for the Marshal and religious positions, but what is the deal with the other posts? Is this a regional or cultural phenomenon of some sort, or are women prohibited from employment across the board?

Edit: Apparently my wife IS eligible for Spy Master, but none of the other women in court are able to be appointed to anything. Obviously I'm just missing something here...

As I understand it you can appoint your mother and your wife to be spymaster, and that's it.

If you go to the job_titles file in the common folder you can see that every council position has a ban on women. Spymaster has a special exception which allows wives and mothers to hold the job, as previously mentioned.

So we are looking for brides with high intrigue stat? This could backfire if your wife turns to hate your guts... lol...

If you're planning to breed talented offspring I suggest you look beyond the intrigue skill

Ideally, you want your wife to have all good stats, since they are all factored into the formula for determining your realm stats.

I believe certain traits, at least, have a chance of being passed on (those with congenital = yes), though it doesn't appear to be a particularly high chance.
