Hi,

I know that, technically, when you give provinces to a vassal by a peace treaty, it's not the "same" country. However, vassals, colonial nations and client states functionally act as sub-divisions of a country more than as autonomous entity able to interact with the outside world. The only time when they do interact with the outside world is through trade and wars, especially independance wars, in which they lose their subject status. So subject nations (excluding tributaries) have almost no autonomous diplomacy.

Thus, I would suggest that the warscore modifiers, like absolutism, should apply to the subjects. This would have the effect that you could difrectly give provinces to a vassal or a colonial nation in a peace deal without having to worry about the fact that this other nation doesn't have the same modifiers you have, and thus that the cost is higher for them.

I would go even further, saying that national unrest bonuses could also apply, especially the one coming from war exhaustion reduction, but it might be too much confusion between subjects and overlord. It would also ignore or overlap with the subject's own modifiers. Still, I think at least the protector of the faith modifier should apply to "close" subjects (not tributaries), as they are part of the overlord's efforts.

What do you think of this?
