Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Today I started up the game and went to load my save from yesterday and I get a message that the save cannot be loaded because the file is missing or I lack privileges.

After checking the games saves folder I see that all the autosaves are there but all the manual saves I've made a missing with one exception.

There was one save I made early on in which I unticked the save to cloud box. I also have the game set to not save autosaves to the cloud. So it appears to me that all the saves that are meant to be backed up on the cloud have been removed.

Verifying files has not restored them. Examining the steam cloud properties of AoW:pF indicates it has 5.2mb of files saved. Comparing that to the size of the autosaves I have I think that would be pretty spot on for the number of manual saves that have gone missing.

Steps to reproduce the issue
I guess set one type of save to save via cloud and another to not and make several of both types of saves over several days.

I've been playing every other day since launch and one thing that might be noteworthy is I have not restarted my computer during that time. Steam may have been restarted since launch but was restarted between the last time I successfully loaded the saves files and when they went missing. So the issue is most likely tied to the opening and closing of the AoW:pF application itself.
Edit: Forgot to mention that restarting steam etc. since doesn't result in the missing cloud files resyncing (nor does creating new cloud saves).

Manual saves default to the Steam cloud rather than local storage.

The Steam cached copy is in:
...\Steam\userdata\85141919\718850\remote\SAVES\

If the saves are not there , I have no explanation for that - neither Steam nor the game would deliberately remove them.

Hey Astrobia, we've gotten similar reports but have been unable to recreate the issue our selves. Could you launch the game in debug mode, this option can be found in the Paradox Launcher at the bottom and attempt to make a Cloud Save. Afterwards there should be a log in \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders Planetfall\Logs, if you can get us this it might tell us more about the issue. Please send these to logs@triumphstudios.com and let us know when you've send it so we can immediately chase this issue.

Would a log of trying to open the saves it can't find help?
Yes those are very helpfull, the more information we have the higher the chance of us finding the issue.

I have the same issue. When I launched the game today, I was also unable to load my game. I get the message "Failed to open file. The folder may not exist, or you may not have sufficient privileges to load from this location". I have "Save to Steam cload" on, but that doesn't seem to help either. It seems that all of my save files are deleted from Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders Planetfall\Saves, except from an old Quicksave_SP.ACG file. Last time I played, was a week ago. My problems are solved now. I followed AndrewT's tip on how to find the Steam cloud saves in ...\Steam\userdata\85141919\718850\remote\SAVES\. I had to copy the files over to the \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Age of Wonders Planetfall\Profiles\RandomNumbersAndLetters\Saves folder, as they don't appear in this folder anylonger after one of the last updates.

I tried to start the game in Debug Mode, but that didn't help. I have sent the log to the mail address anyway, in case it helps you understand what's wrong.
