One line summary of your issue
Severe world map graphical issues after Diplomacy screen
What platform are you running the game on?
PS4 Pro
What operating system do you use?
PS4 8.50
Which version of the game are you running?
1.28 (Triceratops 1.404)
What expansions do you have installed?
Revelations, Invasions, Star King
Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Varying serious graphical glitches occur on the World Map after exiting the Diplomacy screen.
For example (seen in 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro + Favor Resolution setting) a cluster of vertical multi coloured spikes appear shooting up from one particular hex. Simultaneously, I have seen a cluster of dark spikes which reached down to wherever you are looking, from a hex up in the unexplored area - all after exiting the Diplomacy screen (regardless of what you do in that screen).
Other problem seen (related? seen in 4K + Favor Performance, or 1080p + Favor Resolution/Performance) is a MUCH worse glitch - large areas of the visible (explored) map change to just displaying flashing horizontal lines - or blocks of solid/flashing colour.
The corruption can sometimes be seen within the Diplomacy screen, visible in the background when you jump to an NPC faction city, and the glitch then persists when you return to the main map screen.
I noticed this first on Leave-6 map, main campaign, but tried Default Imperial World, and the same glitches occurred. Restarting, reinstalling the game etc made no difference.
You can temporarily fix by reloading a save game, but as soon as you go back into Diplomacy, via radial menu, or communication from a faction, the issue recurs.
Have you tried verifying your files?
No, on PS4, but tried reinstalling the game.
Steps to reproduce the issue
Go into the Diplomacy screen from the radial menu. You could then talk to an NPC faction for example, or just scroll around options. Then simply exit back to the world map and pan around a bit to see the issue.
Attach DxDiag (PC) or System Info log (Mac)
