Okay if Mossi is to be independent, then Songhai needs military access through Mossi. Otherwise ax Mossi and give its province to Songhai. Really just a matter of interpretation. It might help Songhai if the Mossi don't exist though.

Give 795 back to ASH and 1492 back to MAL. (Capital of Mali should be in Niani at this point.)

Give Portugal a small colony in either 802 or 801.

Timbuktu should not exist at this point as it was taken by Songhai.

Give 738 to XHO as the event to give it back has fired by this point.

It might be best just to have Tripoli independent as a vassal of Tunisia. Based off the even that 'gives' 738 to XHO. Don't make it colony just because of the wierd effects that could happen tied with that its inconsistent with the GC.

We no longer have a tag for Cyrenaica, just leave it as is, similar to reasons for keeping Tripoli the same.

Give 732 to Portugal, they had Ceuta and Tangiers by this point.

For Ethiopia's provinces (1588, 1589, and 1590) you can have natives there, but Ethiopia should still own the province. Otherwise, we'll end up with wierd colonizations. Do the same for Adal.

1507 should be native so don't give it to Zimbabwe.

Technically, 771, 769, and 768 should be owned by Kilwa but until we get ai help for Portugal, I'd just leave them blank. However, you can give Zimbabwe 770 because it did have port access.

Does Shongay need help?
I'll take away Timbuctu off course, was an error ;).

The problem is: what i had rode about african coast is that this has been unpopulated as european come. I took 795 away from ashanti for this reason... and mali should not own 1492 if i look on my map... maybe we should find an arrangement.

I preferr 801 for portugal colony.

What about a gold mine in Elmina (794)? Could be low incomes till european own this province and raised with an event.

What about cyrenaica?

Actually 795 was technically held by another nation the Fante, who traded goods from the coast inland to the Ashanti, although the two hated each other.

When I re-setup which each province represented, I kept Niani as Niani, which was the ancient capital of Mali and were they moved when Jenne was taken by Songhai.

I can remember on the coasts, is the Gold Coast east or west of the Ivory Coast?

Okay, then that'd make sense, though I need to change it for 1419 as well. Perhaps the coastal CoT should be there too then. Either El Mina, or 795 for the Fante is best, though the whole Fante trade wasn't big till the 17th century.

Ehm... i've never seen a Zimbabwe reaching the seaside in my maps...

What now about 795, elmina gold mine and 1492 province?
Do you mean Fante in RL cause i can't find it in EEP...

I prefer to have an inland COT. Something like timbuctu is much better IMO.

I mean Fante in real life. We don't have a Fante, since technically, Ashanti and Dahomey weren't real players till 16th/17th century.

I just returned a library book that showed Zimbabwe with a coast. Because I returned it, I can't scan in an image, will do when I can. There should actually be two separate nations in Zimbabwe but I didn't want to take the tags (same situation as Fante).

There should really be two CoTs by 1492ish. One in Timbuktu and one on the coast, though maybe thats a 1520 thing.

I'd give 1492 to Mali as capital. Give 795 to Ashanti, better than having Euros colonize. Put a gold mine in that southern Dahomey province. I think that maybe (1419 thing) Dahomey shouldn't even exist at start, but I'll look into that.

Oh I know about that Dahomey province, I just referred to it as that because thats what it is in 1419. If you don't have a coastal CoT, then we will need to add one by event, eventually. I mean, the Portuguese did not travel inland in order to trade.

Yes that could be a problem... but how big was portuguese trade with african natives? Did not the trading still went mostly on saharian routes till a long time? It seems to me niger river hard for ships at this time. Could be wrong, but seemed to me... and how small will be 2 near african COTs?
