I do not seem to be able to pull my CD Key from Steam as I expected to, and thus cannot register my AoD ownership on the forum. It is merely cosmetic, but I would like to do so - is there a plain text or hash somewhere in my install I can access, or is there some arcane method I can employ to access it through Steam? There is no 'View Game CD Key' option, just to clarify.

I just filed a ticket with Steam Support. I highly recommend everyone else do the same so that they know that this is a real problem.
Yeah, no indicator on Steam and there doesn't appear to be one in the game files from what I can tell.

Maybe, but over the last year I've found myself a bigger supporter of Steam and decided to go with them this time around.
Whenever Valve decide, and going by Valve time I'd take a guess at next week.
Just to confirm that I was able to view my CD key on Steam for AoD about 5 minutes ago. All registered and working now.
Invalid CD key
Just tried to register my game ( purchased through STeam ). Keeps giving me an invalid CD code. Are the 0 zeroes or o's ?? Maybe that's my issue. Thanks

Just zeros pars the first four letters. You can copy the key from steam though, so you won't have to guess.
