Anyone else but me finds that being able to ally upwards (easy) and then sending your ally ( can't refuse) to do your wars for you - whatever unlawful, whatever the cost, (in blood and gold), whoever the opponent, however outnumbered, etc... wars that your ally would never even have dreamed of daring initiating himself... and then, assuming a successful outcome, just being given the titles with no counterpart whatsoever....

... an absurd, anti-immersive, pro-blob, mechanisms that is just so obvious and easy that it is even impossible to ignore?

It's a very common complaint.

I disagree that it's especially pro-blob though, if anything, it's more useful/broken when you're smaller.

It should be possible to betray your allies, and for your allies to betray you, if you want my opinion.

And AI should dissolve alliance permanently (not to renew) if your participation is lower than certain threshold (20-30%), also other AIs should then be wary of allying you.

I disagree that it's especially pro-blob though, if anything, it's more useful/broken when you're smaller.

But the sad thing is precisely that if you want to start small precisely because you want a steep stimulating difficulty curve, it can catapult you ridiculously quickly to engaging wars with whole kingdoms ( well, to having your powerful ally engage in war on your behalf) and if used smartly it's just too easy to super-inflate your domain in no time

It should be possible to betray your allies, and for your allies to betray you, if you want my opinion.

totally. It's not like it never happened.

And AI should dissolve alliance permanently (not to renew) if your participation is lower than certain threshold (20-30%), also other AIs should then be wary of allying you.

totally.

You can even explore this absurdity a little further: if you're willing to lose a bit of prestige for a lost war, in exchange of critically undermining your ally for whatever reason, you can just suicide his army by declaring war to the fattest cat around, remain, you and your troops, at good distance from any fighting, while your servile ally will, no questions asked, send his armies to be crushed against impossible odds; and he won't even be upset at you after.

It's not that AI will do all wars for you, it mostly gives priority to own wars, especially rebellions. For example, allying Charlemagne on 769 start is the worst thing you can do.
