Anyone tried opening the L-Gates with the new update?

Before Le Guin the results of opening the gates were catastrophic enough, but I'm interested to see if anyone has conquered it with the new update, considering how much more expensive (unbalanced) fleet costs are right now

I had two young space dragons (don´t know the correct terminology) appearing in the galaxy. They are peaceful for know, but I don´t know, whether this is going to change.

This was the outcome I got as well. I did not realize I could tame them so an AI empire accidentally got a hold of one of them before me.

Because of the drakes, the L Cluster was empty except for some nice resources. Overall a bit of a disappointment.

I got nanites impersonating the race that created them. After I inquired about the nanites they turned hostile. The thing is they were pretty weak, roughly 20k fleet power per fleet while mine had around 100k at the time. It was pretty disappointing, as all I really got from it was two nanite mining stations, so 2 nanite income per month and that's it.

I got the Desannu on my first attempt. They were bugged so they didn't really give me anything while friendly, even though they said they would. After I've beaten them I got a whooping +3 nanites... meh. But I was able to terraform many of their nanite worlds into a great little base of operations. Then on my second run I got Gray and another +3 nanites... meh again. Only this time the nanite worlds were not terraformable... so double meh. Well at least Gray makes for a nice governor.

I opened them in 2382 and got wrecked by the 30k fleet that came out of them. I had two gates in my territory so one 30k fleet to deal with. I think my combined 17k and 18k fleets could deal with one of theirs but since theres two gates to defend that's not gonna work for long. The rest of the galaxy are weaker so they are screwed. Probably gg lol.

I opened them in a MP game and got Nanites. They were strong but not overpowered. But after opening the daily lag that was already quite annoying got so incredibly horrendously bad that we just decided to cancel the game :\

L Cluster is supposed to be a mid game crisis anyway. It should run parallel to the Great Khan. Considering that, So at least it offered something great instead of just a madman ramming asteroid ships towards your capital.
