Anyone tried a blietzkrieg strategy? (invading more than one planet at a time with armies)

hello all,

I was just curious about something. Since the general consensus is that armies are not so important in war (a bit more now maybe with Banks Utopia update), that general are not generally (pun intended) useful etc, that armies are tedious to use and that bombardment are more useful than planetary invasion etc ...

So my question is:

has anyone successfully tried to create a race/empire geared towards planetary military bonuses and, when in war, attacked several planets at once where bombardment was only used to reduce the shield to an tacceptable level before the invasion?

Basically mimicking the german blietzkieg during WW2 (we are in paradox forums after all, I may have never played it before, but heart of iron is a thing). :)

So thoughts?

In multiplayer all I can say is early rusher use space ship to attack and transport are weak belly so blitzing need at least to destroy 2 spaceport(or not) in the same time and at the same time don't let either get killed by early warning sensor notification for the defender. So you need at least 1.5-2 time fleet power to get it work. And if you got that fleet you get less trooper so i don't expect it to work specially against resilient species.

And Tips : If you are the defender like me you will see what the enemy has in his fleet and what weapon they use so you can retrofit fast to counter build and earn warscore by kicking their ass.

i'm my current game i've decided that i'm too bored to care about flawless victories in a war...so i've made 4 fleets and 4 army stacks...and constantly capturing 4 planets simultaneously during war
