Somethings I noticed from it.
They are confirming it seems now that 1 Million Cims is going to be the cap. We before knew it was their goal but unsure on it. It also says it is maybe possible to uncap it where before it said it was going be a hard limit if I recalled via reddit.

They don't want us to tamper with the exe but they have also stated "Cities: Skylines was built to have as many variables exposed as possible" and "Our developers are continually working with modders to make modding easier and better."

So that makes me really happy.

Yeah, I've looked at it. It's good, so that newcomers don't have to ask too many questions. If a newcomer comes, and asks stuff, just send them the link to this post.

I don't mind a 1 million hard limit at all - that's still an insane amount of citizens when they're all simulated. However I'm curious what happens when you reach the limit.. Can you still build houses, but nobody moves in to them? Do you get a big "Game Over!" message? Do you get "ghost citizens" that only show in the statistics but aren't simulated?

How many internet users does it take to create a faq? One to write it and sticky it, 500 to ask the same questions again, 5000 to flame them for not bothering to read the stickies, and the first person again plus a handful of others to helpfully link to the sticky.

Oh, you know. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together. Your basic mass hysteria.

We've known that 1 million was going to be the default limit for ages and the ONLY thing I ever saw about the "hard cap" was one of the non-developers (I think one of the community managers but I'm not sure) saying that possibly maybe it would be a hard cap but they didn't really know. Now I may have missed some big official statement about it, but I have said this before and not been provided any actual link to contradict me so...

Almost every video I saw said they like to have a 1 mil cap and said it was their goal. Would love you to link to the exact video or stream where they said it's for sure a 1 mil cap.

They never said it was their goal to have a 1M cap. At most they said that they want a 1M cap with the game running smothly as goal.

And keep in my that it is 1M for inhabitants + tourists. Not for inhabitants only.

It's not from videos it's from the forums. I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact thread where a dev explicitly said there would be one million, but I do remember it being confirmed. I mean even aside from direct confirmation, there were several posts and perhaps they even said it in videos where they explicitly said that the 1 million number included tourists, so your city probably couldn't have 1 million actual residents. It wasn't really left up in the air with those statements.

Yep, the game starts lagging once you get 1 million NPCs doing stuff. I wonder how long will it last, until someone succeeds and mods the restriction away

I don't ignore stickies. It's about time an FAQ thread was stickied, some nice work on it too.
Same, I always notice them.
