*see title* For example, just now in my game the computer asked me to pick between the Clausewitz and Jominian army doctrine. When I moused over each choice to see what the results would be, it was just a blank space. This doesn't happen with most events/inventions, but it does happen consistently with a few, e.g. the army doctrine one and a lot of the political cultural inventions. Is this a common problem or does this just happen to me? Anything I can do about it?

these events actually don't give you the techs, they just set the behind the scene command to give you the actual techs in a later event. That is why you do not see any info regarding changes to unit stats - nothing is changed in these setup events. Rather they set you up to get one or the other, and the details of what they do to your units come with that invention popping, since that is when the changes are actually made.
Before these were introduced in 1.04, the choice of Jominian and Clausewitzian would simply be randomly made by the computer, and the player would be stuck with whatever they got, this "pre-choice" event at least gives players choice now.
the description of the event could be better written, but you would still not see the actual impact of the choice in doctrines until the actual doctrine invention fired shortly afterward.

There isn't really anything you can do about it. Once you pick an option, eventually the invention (the chosen option) will fire and its effect will appear.rum_coke said:
