Half of the realm lost its mind, other half are dismembered cancer-ridden lepers. All of them die before they reach 30.

It truly is the end times! (But for the moment, it's really fun)

I once had a ruler with 13 female children and no males so I guess that means genders are totally skewed.

Ugh.

The amount of agrees on the OP should indicate to you that this is not some isolated RNG fuckery, one person or one game being skewed is bad luck or a quirk a bunch of people over a bunch of games is a pattern.

But hey, we'll leave it to the devs, if this isn't treated like an issue and patched I'll happily concede I'm just seeing what I'm expecting to see.

People are much more likely to complain or see patterns in things that negatively effect them so a few people agreeing with the OP not only makes for a biased sample but also one too small to come to any meaningful conclusion.

I once had a ruler with 13 female children and no males so I guess that means genders are totally skewed.

Chances of a child being female is one out of two, while around one out of ten rulers was lunatic before, and that's being generous.

Currently at work now so I can't provide the exact numbers, but the number of lunatic rulers has definitively exploded, every character I've played since yesterday turned lunatic as long as they managed to make it to adulthood.

If the answer to the title of the thread is simply "No.", do you think they would be more or less likely to reply?

It's pretty irrelevant, by positing the question you are simply more likely to catch the attention of anyone who has seen or believed they have seen a statistically significant increase in the number of characters with a given trait whilst people who haven't probably wont enter the thread. This essentially creates an echo chamber in a thread where everyone is agreeing and believes that this must therefore be representative of the population as a whole.

Less, naturally. I entirely get the echo chamber thing but occassionally, when a bunch of people notice the same thing, it actually means there's something to notice.

Like I said, we'll see what the devs have to say about it.

I'm getting the normal level of crazyness, but I don't have RD, yet. (That new patch - just fantastic even without the new DLC.)

The increased amount of lunatics and possessed characters is most likely due to disease being much, much more prevalent, and lunacy/possessed being results of the following treatments for said disease.

It's very much associated with RD, though to be honest, events just seem to be popping up way more often than usual (councillor events specifically), so it might just have been an effect of the latest patch synchronizing with the new DLC to create a hellish landscape of insane cannibalistic lepers ruling the world.

So I found a semi accurate way to quickly look at this. Went to the character finder selected ruler and searched lunatic, then you scroll to the bottom of the list:
upload_2016-8-26_17-16-19.jpeg

Then delete lunatic and the list is repopulated with all rulers and the scroll bar is set in a way that tells you the proportion of lunatics, in this case ~5%

upload_2016-8-26_17-17-56.jpeg

We can do the same for a more common trait such as cruel and find that is around 10%:
upload_2016-8-26_17-18-40.jpeg

upload_2016-8-26_17-18-57.jpeg

Now I can't be bothered reverted back a patch and compare but given the small % of characters that are lunatics here there is unlikely to be much of a deviance. However, I will say this is just 1 game and just one further anecdote so this could just as easily be a statistical anomaly.

My crazy ratio (assuming this is an accurate way to measure this ofc):

I'd run a bunch of observer games to check how this pans out but I'm lazy. Other people feel free to post theirs tho.

EDIT:

Oh, rulers:

As said, it's likely due to potent diseases/new tortures in this patch that crazyness seems to be a 'trend'.
Though might I say that it's not what's really concernin' me, no no no. What concerns me is the amount of success my physician has with making working treatments such as making me drink piss, rubbin' me with a severed hand affected by what I believe is the Plague, and tellin' me to look away and cough. And it works everytime!

Oh his learnin' was around 20 or so. I understand it helps with the treatment working, but the insanity of his treatments just make it so delightfully funny.
