Now, from what I've heard (well read) we can get AI in Stellaris and this AI can go rogue, so Sentient Machines turning against it's masters. Now does anyone share my worries about using AI? Cause as someone who plays the X-Series it does make me wonder about how many ways this can all destroy my little empire, though I doubt it would be to the extent as the Xenon.

I think you're supposed to worry about it! Toasters are probably safe, but to get the really good benefits you have to absorb some risk. That said, dangerous technologies are labeled.

Just to say, if you check out the dev diary on end game disasters you'll see that it will totally be to the same extent as the xenon. The AI rebellion is a major disaster, and unless it's nipped in the bud very early will rapidly become a serious threat to the whole galaxy as the AI can rapidly out-produce and out-tech its organic creators.

Heck, even if you avoid robots and AI tech, there's nothing to say that other people won't dive in and the more intelligent robot pops there are in the galaxy the greater the chance of AI rebellion.

Apparently, you can eventually give the AIs equal rights in your society, and even let them run for leaders and such. What effect this has on the rebellion is unknown, but it might reduce the desire for liberty or possibly even cause the AI empire to leave you alone if and when it happens.

All fun stuff to discover, and if you're worried just remember the dwarf fortress motto ("losing is fun"), because that's kind of true even in games with a win condition.

Guess it won't be too late to create my very own AGI Task Force.

We all saw that the Stellaris AI defeated Wiz so hard he cried out, live on a twitch stream, "Why do you do this to me? I'm your father!"

In Quill18's video, pirates turned against the civilisation which spawned them, and destroyed that civilisation. These pirates were not under the control of the player; they were under AI control.

In every game of Stellaris that we have seen so far (that is, both of the above) we can see a running theme of AI betraying its creators and outfighting them. This is a bad omen, as @PichuTrainer points out, for what would happen if our empires created their own AIs.

Somewhere, merni is laughing.

There's a tweet from wiz to the effect that liberated robots won't take you off the AI rebellion's hit list, but it may keep your AIs loyal to you.

I now want the robot civil war between those that want to live together with organics and those that want to slaughter them all.

Inside? No, not really. The *dangerous* techs are apparently labeled as such, so if it comes from inside, you are voluntarily doing it to yourself. Now, what the idiot neighbors get up to worries me.

Hmm. I wonder if it you can weaponize it, though, Colonize a planet well away from your empire, populate it exclusively with robots when the dangerous tech is looming on the horizon, then spin them off as a vassal and release them completely, and wait for the logic bomb to explode on the surrounding empires.

Luckily there are some Fallen Empires that (assuming they are in your game) will be trying to stop people from producing AI.

Toasters deserve no rights in my SP campaigns, but you can bet your house that I'll be hyper-aggressively researching sentient AIs and any other dangerous techs during MP... some of us just want to watch the galaxy burn.
