The size and scope of the tech tree, the mod system, the nuances of units, the diplomacy system. Even now I'm finding many units are not straightforward to use, and can be modded or designed for vastly different roles. And many units have secret or unintended uses that aren't spelled out, such as the fact that Subjugators can steal tech.

This isn't a complaint. I'm having zero issues with difficulty. But I feel like compared to last ones where I mostly get things fairly quickly, this game feels like a mountain of untapped knowledge waiting to be discovered.

Is anyone else still a little overwhelmed even after like a hundred hours? Cause I feel like I'll be in a sort of awe for a long time. This game is staggeringly complex, but done right.

I feel kind of the same way. I intend to deal with it by working one faction on smaller maps with different techs until I feel I've mastered it reasonably well, then moving on to another faction afterwards. One problem is that I tend to use auto-resolve a lot and this obviously keeps me from learning the nuances of unit/mod interactions. I'm weird that way.

Pick one faction and secret tech and learn the nuances of them and how they work together over several games.
You misunderstand. I already have a good grasp of Syndicate with 3 of the secret techs. And I've done some earlygame Vanguard stuff because of the campaign so far. It's just that it feels like even having played a handful of games to victory I'm still finding new things and learning how it all fits together.

Yes, there are many layers and combos even with the same faction/tech mix. Knowing Triumph, the game will just get better over time.

And the Expansions aren't even out yet. And people modding the game have barely even started doing so yet.

The first Expansion is adding a new secret tech. That means new units, new operations, new Doctorines, new Bronze, Silver, and Gold Landmarks, new mods, new doomsday weapon, ect...

The first Expansion will also have new Location mechanics including new location based units I believe.

And it will have a new minicampaign.

And more.

All of this adding to the depth of the game.

Subjugators stealing tech is not something I'd keep in my mind as intended behavior. In fact just the opposite. It currently resides in my "will be patched out first opportunity" space.

Welcome to the Grand Strategy/4X way of life... Paradox-style. Most (if not all) of their games work like that :)

Actually it is intended, you steal the 'Unit template' allowing indentures to use a variety of mods. So I think you can upgrade it to more permanent residence.

Boom!

Intended subjugation of all of you!

Anyway, Garrwsh you are a noob.

I beat the game using only a 6 stack of Syndicate skating dudes, whilst playing with just my left hand as the right hand was holding the tea cup.

Prove me wrong!

;)

Seriously though, game is broad and deep

I just recently completed the syndicate's part in camnpaign and begun on assembly, after that assembly is done i'm gonna start on mora secundias something. But anyways I did play campaign at first and then put it on hold while i was doing the vanguard camaign's part 2 mission. I went into random maps and then did alot fo stuff because I couldn't focus until I got to play with vanguard tanks first. After an almost couple of weeks of playing on random maps and I came back to continue the campaign and realized I did alot of things wrong but did a bunch of things right.

Had an booming economy but small and scattered armies. Managed to turn that around in less than ten turns and get together 60+ units in one place just before the assembly dow'd on me and all those units went and beat him down fast. xD He would've succeeded if I didn't pause the campaign there and went to play random maps. lol

I see that there is alot of stuff and it isn't immediately obvious but I'm getting pretty good feel for it.
