I have no reservations regarding ck2's state on release. Given the extensive beta streaming and other coverage i see no reason to except anything else.
Anyone else dying to order but having reservations?

I have pre-ordered Victoria 2, Sengoku, AHD and all of those games were playable and fun when released. I don't see how you can say that you've wasted money if you get to play the game earlier even if there are bugs. Not to mention the pre-order bonuses.
And yes, there will be bugs. There are some crazy bugs in AHD right now but I still had a lot of fun playing it on Thursday.

I have access to the preview version, and I have never had any crashes, freezes or whatsoever. The game is very stable, and the current version is well balanced. Of course, I still have a lot of ideas that could be added. (Cardinals,...) But hey... That way they could keep on adding stuff and never actually release it. I'm sure the game will be expanded a lot in the future through expansions and DLCs.

Am I the only one that wishes they'd release it early and to hell with any bugs? I don't care that there are bugs on release, Paradox always patch everything as soon as possible. I have more faith in them than anyone else.
Having said that I completely understand why they won't, and it's because of what the OP says. They want a perfect release to dispel the 'reputation', and if it's better for them in the long run then it's better for us too. I just want to play it now

LOL! Well if that is your opinion then by all means withhold on CK2 too. But I think you are confusing what "playable" means.
I found Vic2 well playable in release - it was stable, had all features in working condition, and you could play any country from 1836 to 1935 without crashes or collapses of the game's rule set. (As in, having the economy collapse on itself at some point in a way that "broke" the rules and goals of the game.)
It had its gruffy parts - I detest the way warfare works, and yes rebels were everywhere - but that does not detract from the fact that you could *PLAY* the game from start to finish by the game's rules.
What you mean is not PLAYABILITY but ENJOYABILITY. That is a subjective thing. What one person enjoys, another detests. The Paradox game community is full of, shall we say, "unusual" characters (the usual gamer population but with a higher % of intellectuals, autists, aspergers and OCD people) so there's a wide variety of tastes.
I did not play Vic2 for long because I didn't enjoy it beyond the first one or two playthroughs and no amount of patches or expansions changed that. But it was playable on day 1.
There's a big difference between unplayable and unbalanced. Unplayable is when the game is so buggy that it doesn't work the way it's supposed to at all, and other cases like that. Unbalanced is when rebels form gigantic doom armies that the AI can't contend with at all and when the world economy is just constantly unstable. Unbalanced games are annoying, but they're not unplayable. That's a really hyperbolas accusation.

In the good old days, you used to have to wait a year and five patches for the games to reach this level (But it was worth it all the way, hehehe)

I really want to know how it will perform on lower end machines before I pick it up. I'm going to try the demo when I get home but that's not always a good indicator of the late game. If Victoria 2 with AHD runs well, I should be ok, right?
My PC is rahter the one that is recommended which normally is the minimal configuration i guess and i had no problems running it smooth as can be.
The demo is both enticing and persuasive. It would be a good thing indeed if this type of release and beta-testing were to become the Paradox modus operandi going forward, eh?
What is that "early adopter" bonus? I also have preordered from amazon but the game will likely arrive later than 14 February. Do i have access to this one?
I had reservations about a week ago. Then I caved in because CK is my favorite of all paradox games. Then I played the demo, and haven't regretted my decision to pre-order.
I hope so, too. Since the rocky HoI3 release things seem as though they have been getting progressively better, so I'm very optimistic. Still not going to download or play on release day (and I've already pre-ordered), it can wait till later in the week if reports are generally positive on the forum. Till then, I've got the demo and that works just fine
