Anyone else crashing when starting a game on open beta?

I made a bug report, but I was just curious if I was alone? Is there a 'usually this works' thing I can do? I tried restarting steam, deleting my launcher, etc. Strangely enough, if i click to resume my previous game that's 200 hundred years in it works. After some initial hanging, the game runs. But whenever I click to start a new game it crashes when I try to edit or save an empire, or after i click play if I don't do either of those things - even with the default UNE empire.

I've seen several reports of this, and experienced it myself. It seems to be tied to antivirus with active protections. Add Stellaris to the whitelist/exceptions, and try again.

Worked for me too! Tried excepting the 'documents' stellaris folder and that didn't work. Needed to be the folder where the game is installed (obviously). But the fact my antivirus was targetting the 'launcher-v2.sqlite' thingy in the documents folder confused me.

i had a similar problem, but more than about only starting the game was with saving empires setups or removing them , it was because the game didn't have administrative access , so it could not modify files ...
