Ever done the Imperial federation as UK and ended up with a bunch of ships that are carbon copies of your own old designs?

Then remembered that you made a refit design for them years ago ingame where you just added a sonar and/or a radar and some depth charges to them and wanted to do the same with these 'new' ships so they might become more useful . . . except you cannot do that.

Even thou this 'new' V/W-Class destroyer is an exact copy of the V/W-Class destroyers you started the game with. There were a couple of more ship classes that were the same thing with being exact copies, but I cannot remember which ones.

I think it's the same thing with ships gained thru annexations, captured in ports and some events. You have some ships that you cannot modify in any way, no matter what tech levels you are at.

Is there any way that the devs might be willing to add so that we can modify ships that we own but haven't built ourselves?

I made a suggestion more than a week ago but I don't think many people saw that so this is just an attempt to get noticed by others that might have been in the same situation.
