In real life, yes. But in the game they do. Plus, I tried to kill her by plot and she found out. And then I divorced her. Let's just say she was very pissed off. LOL

Actually, the acidity vs. alkaline levels of a woman's lady parts can influence which gender the children are. However it's more likely that a man's dangly bits are to blame since you can't have girls if you're not producing female sperm.

So yeah, this is actually a part of the game's code?

I divorced two husbands in my Countess of Eu game. Started out in a regular marriage to a guy, and there were only two de Normandes left. Kicked him out the second I had the piety (and got out of regency) and got into a proper Matrilineal Marriage. Then that hubby dies and I get remarried, only to forget to check the Matrilineal box.

She went through about 7 husbands, I think, and only managed to have one dynastic child. Those were my only divorces so far.

i rarely divorce wives--i prefer killing them, instead. Far less messy. Once, though, when i'd started a really big plot to have her killed, she happened to die of "natural causes"--the pope's not the only one with god on his side.

Only did this in one game, but divorcing a pregnant wife still gives you a legitimate child (who you will be guardian of) and lets you have a new child with new wife, so it can increase your children numbers quite easily. Especially good if say divorced wife was say heir of a duke or count, if its a boy you prob just put your dynasty as holders of the title in the future.

Only once as Emperor of Britania:
I'm assuming in his old age he had a stroke but it didn't kill him but made him incapable, my wife was made regent and then she began taking counties away from me for herself. Since shes regent and I'm an old cripple I can't do much to harm her, the out of spite I divorce her and leave my son to deal with his treasonous step mother. I provoked her into rebelling and then exiled her after crushing her laughably small army
