Well my oldest daughter is married to my youngest brother in this game. (I DON'T even want to think about it) I didn't want it but when they offered I thought it least it would ensure the game continues. LOL
Just once actually, latest game. She was hedonist, which was fine since she had great stats and increased fertility to boot. They were actually lovers for like 20 years, but then my king got the chaste trait and it all came crashing down, at some point they lost the lovership and shortly thereafter they started hating eachother with a -1000 in relation. Since I was still hoping for a couple for princesses to make alliances, I figured it would be best to just get a divorce (she was a duchess withhigh intrigue so assassination wasnt an option).
The funny thimg is, the pope said he'd grant the annulmemt on the grounds of consanguinity relationship... So what does that make my 7 royal heirs mister pope?

The Pope didn't allow me to divorce my wife, so I made my cousin Antipope. He was much more indulgent.
I rarely divorce wives--I prefer killing them, instead. Far less messy. Once, though, when I'd started a really big plot to have her killed, she happened to die of "natural causes"--the Pope's not the only one with god on his side.
A few times when my ruler, rules forever and my heir is in his 40's as is his wife. More often my wives end up in my prison for trying to kill my spymaster.
Married a 21 stewardship Norman girl. She made me double my demesne, but she then gained the Chaste trait. I just HAD to.
How old was your ruler and/or the girl? Having the chaste trait doesn't mean you two won't get children; it only means you'll get fewer. Especially if she's only a "girl", she'll probably still give birth to 3-4 children in 15 years' time.
All the time and for a wide variety of reasons. I've divorced my wife when she became incapable. Sometimes I will marry my heir to a noblewoman and through medieval chicanery she will lose her title and become unlanded, so my heir becomes King I divorce her right away. I'm not a fan of the assassination game in most cases so I just divorce my useless wives in favour of someone younger, hotter, and with a higher stewardship stat Only problem that really comes from this is pissing of their family, or if she is part of your dynasty. Even so the consequences are still better than if your assassination is discovered.

I had a King of Castille that lived FOREVER, so that when his Groomed From Birth Genius Son With Awesome Stats finally took over, he was pushing 60, and his aged wife had only produced one daughter. So, I divorced the old lady, and married a teenaged lustful hedonist genius that promptly began cranking out 7 highly talented children, mostly male, before she died of illness in her late twenties. At which point my, now sainted, king remarried his first wife while waiting to be called to heaven.
*Sigh* I had 7 too. Divorced her, married another. Got 8th. Right before my death I finally have a son. I don't live to see him born. Better at that, since he is an imbecile.

Me, I divorce usually for political reasons, like if a better alliance is available, or if I need to dissolve a current alliance. I also divorce to gain sweet inheritances.

Actually it does make sense - the more children the lower the odds of another one (as far as I know), so a new wife will usually have higher fertility - higher odds of having a child = higher odds of having a son.

I had a Henry VIII moment in a Scotland game, when I was dangerously close to end of dynasty and saddled with a 45 year old wife and no heirs except for a sister who my previous character had thoughtlessly married off to the Kaiser, whose kids were all Bilungs rather than Dunbars. The pope hated me, because of opposite traits and my refusal to switch to papal investiture. I was hoping for a mistress event so I could get a bastard to legitimize, but that wasn't happening. Stroke of luck, my court chaplain asked me to convert to Lollardy. Did it, put my wife aside without having to ask permission, and married a random 16 year old lustful attractive courtier. Converted back to parent religion when my first son was born.
Though, shortly thereafter the pope died, and his successor loved me and would have granted me any divorce I asked for. Which made me chuckle.

I don't usually - too many kids can be as much trouble as too few, since you have to find land for them when they turn 16 or take a prestige hit, and they enjoy trying to usurp my heirs. I've done it when my wife was too old or infertile and the succession was in doubt, or when she started plotting to kill me, though.

Good i dont have a wife then , because this game like anothe rguy already said has taught me its way less hassle to just kill her. :-D
In real life, yes. But in the game they do. Plus, I tried to kill her by plot and she found out. And then I divorced her. Let's just say she was very pissed off. LOL
