Replayability. The only way it fails.
Too little events / flavor making couple of starts feel the same. Lets hope not.
But it does not have the content of CK2.

Only thing it's missing that I care about is Byzantine government, and the only reason I care about it is because so many other people do. I don't miss the old combat system yet, and Republics and Hordes were janky and needed to be redone from scratch anyway.

New combat system looks great to me.

The knights doing hundreds of kills seemed a bit strange at first but if you say that each knight has a small Entourage https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Ritter_gefolge.jpg then it makes more sense. I love the character focus that this brings when you see results for individual court members or chars in your realm serving as knights in your army and they might get wounded or killed or kill important enemies. Makes you care more about some of those no name characters that were insignificant before.

There is a similar grammar mistake in the response to another event I noticed, but I haven't gone back and found it again yet.

Re Unaffordable...
Thing is by the time it gets to that point, there will be several DLCs on top of the Base Game.

BUT...

One doesn't generally buy everything all at once...

For example, I bought the original CK2 Base Vanilla Game, and played that for several years before I bought my first DLC. Then, when I did, I bought two-Legacy of Tome, and Old Gods-because they were on sale...

So, even though the Base Game, and all DLCs-at full price-might qualify as "Unaffordable", they're not really, because you buy them either one at a time, or during one of PDox's outrageous everything-for-only-a-few-dollars sales...

Yeah but if you want the full game experience with fleshed out mechanics you need the dlc, as whilst more and more get added to the map, it won't have the unique game mechanics added

I noticed a grammar issue myself on the second stream, on the event that fired after they took the decision to unite Spain.

It should say "Once more, the thrones of Spain have been united under one King."

Also, for the purposes of events and decisions, Heaven and Hell probably ought to be capitalized.

I mean, of course there will be some bugs, and some features may be a bit underwhelming once we put our hands on it.

But overall, I'd like to remind everyone of the importance of the game designers' vision. When you listen to the interviews, when you read the dev diaries, you can see clearly that CK3 is a project that was thought as a whole, as a big game that should be accessible but complex, that would portray history in a certain way but remain focused on character fiction.

Some bugs you say? I would say the succession bug is one of the most game breaking bugs you could have in a crusader kings style game, since it can give you a game over when you have heirs of your own dynasty. I really hope it's fixed in a day one patch or within the first week. That said, by looking at all the stuff that has been released so far I have much higher hopes for CK3 than any title released since EU4.

This is the make it or break it game for me regarding paradox, if this game is unplayable due to various bugs or gameplay issues on release I will probably never buy another paradox devolopment studio game again. Just like I'll never buy a Stellaris dlc again after federations; a game which has shown tremendous flaws in their testing doctrine due to being unplayable because of desyncs in multiplayer years after release (a shame really because the concept is so darn awesome). I truly do hope CK3 doesn't have game breaking desyncs like Stellaris and doesn't grow stale like Imperator.

Dont worry they will find a way to not disapoint you. There will be a lack of content only covered by the purchase of an expensive dlc soon after launch. Rebellions may break the game, a classic at paradox. Also the AI could be catastrophic, EU4 is still broken 2 months after DlC release, the AI guy is likely no working for them anymore.
