I know the devs are hard at work to resolve this issue, but that is at least a week out. Has anyone figured out a way to mitigate the slowdown so I can't try to get to the end game in the mean time?

Also, just had a thought. Has anyone tried disabling wormholes and inactive gateways at game start? Perhaps that could also mitigate the slowdowns caused by wonky trade route calculations.

I am looking only for constructive replies at the moment. Please do not derail this thread.

As far as I know, the wormhole/gateway performance drop have been solve, I can't confirm that it's definitively solved in 2.2.3 since I tend to have a higher tolerance to latency compared to most.

In term of solutions, the beta improved performances for most players so I would highly recommend trying it if you are not already using it. An other option would be to use Glavius ultimate AI mod since it come with some fixes improving performances.

Disabling gateways and wormholes work. Try also disabling Marauders, I hear that they are a performance hog.

I'm already using the beta. Performance still plummets around the mid game. I didn't know Glavius also put performance improvements in. I don't normally play with mods this early after a major update (too busy trying to learn the new ins and outs) but I'll see what Glavius does to fix the performance.

EDIT: Played with Glavius on a couple on going games for 30 minutes. There was no noticeable improvement performance wise. I'm not saying it won't improve performance. Maybe I'd have to start a new game.

Good to know about the wormholes/gateways disabling being a known solution. Is the Marauder performance issue related to the Great Khan or just Marauders in general?

The Marauders probably originated from my thread and after closer examination the reason behind better performance was lower pop count. You may leave them on.
