Any word on custom starts?

In HoI3 you could do a custom start, pick technologies, deploy units, etc. from a point pool. Is there any word on if this feature will be in HoI4?

There is just the 1936 and 1939 start and nothing else.

It was introduced in Their Finest Hour. From the menu you pick "Custom game" instead of regular game, select your country and go. The game will allow you to spend a certain number of "points" at 3 stages (diplomatic, technology, production) which will allow you to, for example, play as America, scrap half its navy and have a much bigger army to start with. Or you can min-max technologies by deleting useless ones and get Sp-Art from 1936 if you want to spend the points on it.

IMO it's a feature that is kind of like cheating, there was some fun in it but the AI didn't make corresponding changes as they would have historically if certain countries had done things very differently.

It was kewl in Vanilla (ie before I turned to mods) but lost it's flavor quickly as stated you could pretty much set yourself up as a super power in 36' as Germany by getting rid of all of the fortifications, antiquated ships/divisions, etc to gain huge amounts of IC and well formed divisions with a small but more updated Navy/Airforce as I recall.
