The ingame option doesn't seem to do much and I can't set the resolution to anything higher than native using nvidia's DSR.

The jaggies are pretty distracting, especially with tilt shift enabled.

AA should be implemented as a separate, moddable shader, so that players can put their own AA solution in the workshop. Possible?

Game should provide at least FXAA, SMAA options (AA none/low/high)

So i found my ideal settings. combination of fxaa and smaa from sweetfx. Ingame AA and tilt sihift is disabled. It looks far better than beofre.
I think best solution might be Downsampling but thats not poossible with my amd card. Maybe with new software updates.

We really need proper antialiasing in this game. I stoped playing this game because of this jagged mess all over my monitor. I tryed DSR but result is acceptable from 3-4*DSR which my graphics card can not handle (gtx660).
It is sad because this game is so much better than SimCity 2013 in terms of gameplay. Well some ppl would say it is not about graphics but for me visual quality is 50% of succesful game.

I would love to use that mod, but my PC laughs at it even at 150%. I did not expect this game to be as intensive as it is on my system, and it is worse with mods / assets added. Then again, my system is now 4 years old and I've only got a 550 TI graphics card which isn't terrible, but far from the top by now.

People already posted the bunch of mods which can improve looks.

PostProcessFX has a bunch of AA options with a small to medium performance impact. all of them look better than the game's default IMO.
If you have a monster machine with lots of power, the Dynamic Resolution can provide even more AA goodness. It's a brute force approach which renders teh game at higher resolution and downscales to your screen. It's compatible with PostProcessFX AA, they can build upon each other.

For additional good looks, also use the mods:

Sun Shafts
Ambient Occlusion
Bordered Skylines

about the same here. my 560ti gtx is starting to feel its age. Still surprised I'm having this bad of lag, poor fps etc. Same exact computer runs comparable games without even breaking a sweat. My fan almost never stops running in a big city in this game, cpu and gpu temperatures are pretty far from usual. AA looks like crap. Hopefully it gets better.
