If you decide to ban every country with naval bonuses except Great Britain (and neither Venice's ideas nor its starting position are anything to write home about in the grand scheme of things), it's not very surprising that Britain is difficult to beat at sea.

Yes it look like GB focused games. Just out of curiosity @Trevok GB is not a man who make rules for your game, right? ;)

The reworked SEA tags have idea sets that are pretty good contenders on the naval front against Britain.

Britain has:
+20% Naval Morale
+15% Heavy Ship CA
+1 Naval Leader Manoeuvre
+1 Yearly Naval Tradition

Brunei has:
+15% Naval Morale
+20% Galley CA
+10% Ship Durability

Malaya has:
+15% Naval Morale
+25% Galley CA
+10% Ship Durability
+1 Combat Bonus Off Owned Coasts

Sure, both Brunei and Malaya won't destroy the British navy offhandedly, but they probably stand a chance. With Galley spam allowed you could stack a stupid amount of Galley CA with Malaya to wreck the British heavies, but with that out with window it's basically a throw between +5% more naval morale and +10% ship durability.

Pretty much this. The other issue is that GB has a unique naval doctrine that gives them +1 combat bonus off owned coast.
They also get upwards of +1 yearly naval tradition via events (you can chose twine between 0.5 naval or 0.3 land tradition).

No it's usually france who makes the rules, although sometimes he does Poland and Milan. Usually his close friend plays England most games though. Still, almost every player who plays GB still heavy into naval.

Take Naval Ideas Group! It is the only way sans exploits to get an even playing field,

Due to their NI's and ambition's.
The issue is that if you go naval and then GB go naval you are both back at square one.

The issue is that if you go naval and then GB go naval you are both back at square one.

Then you most likely get the Historical Situation....a GB that is uninvadable and a GP that is Master of the Continent.

Only problem is if GB enforces the PU on France....

Otherwise this is only a problem if the player in SP is going for World Conquest.
