I wanna try playing a more "hands off" approach as the US of just pumping all my european AI allies full of guns and seeing if they can hold things. The thing is, short of tag switching, is there any way to tell what they're lacking? I can look at the espionage screen, see what's in their stockpile and check what's at 0 but that only tells me they need more of it and not how much.

The AI always seems to know what you need when they lend-lease you.

You get full intel on faction members, so look at their stockpiles. If they have 0 of something, and it's neither obsolete nor foreign, they probably need that.

Also, arguably one of the things the UK needs most is manpower, basically having to fight across the globe, but not really having world power levels of manpower. You can't really give them manpower (except for garrisons, but the Allies won't need many.)

Thanks!
That's a good tip...when I next play the game, I'll use that ability.

Default AI production lines almost focus on rifles and lesser on support equipment, artillery, anti-tank. thats all. if u pump them with rifles, they will spam units til deplete manpower.

but the real king is convoys, USA have large bonuses to outproduce convoys, if u give them enough they will bring everything to europe once u start invanding, it gonna be chaotic, but fun.
