Any way out of ironman?

Okay, I've got the achievements I wanted to get and now I want to continue my game without the constant saves. Any way out of this miserable mode?

I've tried the to

• copy the stored backup to the mydocuments, does not work
• modify the save, does not work
• modify the game, does not work either

I don't know what else could I do. Any suggestions?

There should be an easy way to do that... here's hoping that it gets added at a later patch!

From what I heard - load your ironman game, then load a non-ironman game. Your ironman game should now break and have ironman disabled.

Wow it worked indeed. Is there any way you can do this without also losing your ironman save? I'd like to continue my Byzantium game past the end-date but I want to keep it stored in Ironman mode too.

That would be cheating.

There's one more way. Select your ironman save, click the random nation button, load into it and save the game. It will now be a non-ironman mode with disabled achievements. This will not delete your ironman save.

How would it be cheating? I finished the game in ironman mode and I didn't cheat once. I'd like to keep it stored to stroke my own ego but I'd also like to be able to use the mod that extends the end-date and keep on working on the empire I've grown.

Well that didn't work as I wanted it to, now my byzantium game is saved as Sweden, I falsely got 2 achievements and I can't turn it back into my old Byzantium save. I basically lost the savegame I worked so hard to get. This sucks. Now I won't be able to ever convert it into anything else anymore.

Load the new save and pick Byzantium again.

lol, obviously ironman needs some special time with the devs to work out the bugs.

Go to defines.lua

Second line is END_DATE = "1821.1.1"

Change it to anything you'd like.

I'm so glad that I found this thread... It's impossible to play an ironman save around 1600s with a not-so-powerful CPU.
