Hi!

I'm just fed up with seeing Morocco and Sweden colonizing America... I like to play based on real history (African countries colonizing America is just ridiculous). Can I somehow limit colonization? Like, say, let only Portugal, Spain/Castille, France, UK/England and maybe Netherlands colonize America and make it impossible for other countries to even attempt colonizing it? Is this possible with some sort of mod or game editing? I like the idea of making up history all what you want, I just want to be given the opposite option...

Also, I really don't like that once a western European country discovers the Incas or Aztecs, ANY country can simply go there and conquer them, which leads to a Swedish or Flemish North America - what the hell?????? Any way to restrict this too?

Before you start a game, you can go into game options and edit the speed at which new province discoveries are spread among their tech groups. The spread is set to 50 as default, which means that knowledge about america is available to every country 50 years after Iberian ships have sighted the shoreline, prompting Morocco, Naples, Norway, etc to send colonists.

However, if you change the spread to a 100 years or so, you'll see far fewer minors sending colonist, since they never send explorers. Only a few countries (for example POR, CAS, FRA, ENG, NOV) are programmed to pick QFTNW was a National Idea, so if you increase the time for map information to spread, you'll effectively decrease the colonial free-for-all. It won't prevent Denmark from getting a few colonies eventually, but there will be fewer.

Sweden colonizing America isn't as implausible as you might think. Sweden established several colonies in North America in the 17th century, most notably on the Delaware River in what are now Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Sweden also had a couple of possessions in the Caribbean in the 18th and 19th centuries.

There were some Italian migrancy happening in South America in history. Argentina still has 'a little Venice' there. Lionel Messi too descends from Italian ancestors.

Morocco however is a bit rare occurrence. They could only conquer those colonies to make them their own.

Yeah, you said it... They migrated to Spanish colonies, they didn't actually colonize anything in America... xD
