I just come back from EB. He said that they had one copy which was sold and maybe will get one more copy next week. He was not sure as this is "unpopular title" so the warehouse my not think it prudent to send more.

How did they come to that conclusion after sending only 1 copy to the store I have no idea.

Somebody in the warehouse has to pull out ONE out of a case full of them for every EB store near you. Then put it on a truck, where it will be lost by the driver as it fell between items and was missed. Then brought back to the warehouse, found, shipped again to EB where a clerk will not put it on the shelf as he/she does not recognize the product. Where it will sit in the back until you ask for it, then the clerk will say. "Uh, I don't think we carry that.". Strategy First all over again. I guess I know why my gaming friends never heard of PE or there products.

Indeed, how is a product to become popular if it is not on the frickin store shelves? :mad:

Maybe they are hoping that word of mouth will sell the game. If you read the reviews, most are positive, but how many people are going to look real hard to find the game. I only found EU by accident at a Best Buy. It was the only copy, I had never heard of it. The box sold me though. EU2 was a little easier to find, again a mega-low-mart type of place. Had to order Vic and CK. I never even saw a copy of HoI in a store. Where I live now is rural (largest city Green Bay, WI 3 hours away), I'll never find PE up here. It's hard enough to find near major cities. These are great games, are we in the US just not bright enough to buy them? :confused:

I actually was introduced to PE by Hearts of Iron, which I found while randomly browsing at an EB one day. Fortunately, at that point the game was pretty reasonably patched (can't remember which version it was at the time) and I loved it. I actually haven't gotten around to getting EU2 and Victoria, but I plan on it. CK interested me most as I'm more interested in the time period it represents than those of EU2 and Vicky.

Anyway, I've decided that if they don't have the game on shelves tomorrow, I am ordering from Paradox. Rome: Total War has been tiding me over, but it's quite a buggy game (moronic unit pathfinding, bugs with grouping, dumb cavalry bonuses, general AI stupidity, savegame corruption CTDs, I could go on but I doubt you guys care :) ), and starting to irritate me. So the gaming addict in me is getting rather impatient.

I haven't played R:TW yet, though I doubt I'm going to get it. I got Shogun a long time ago, and absolutely adored that game....it still has a spot on my drive. Then, giving up on the then awaited CK, I got M:TW. I also loved that game. When I got CK I played it for a few weeks, and then went back to M:TW for a comparison. Conclusion: TW SUCKS! :D

Yeah, that sounds like something that a retailer might do. "Let's not try to sell more than our competition."

I don't think so.

Hmmm...Maybe it's just me, but it looks like EB games is shipping them out the same day as Gamestop. Like I said, it's fair competition.

I'm sure it has to do with the genre not being popular. Unfortunately stores only like to stock the latest trends (like shoot em ups). Now a days all their focus seems to be shifting to console games. The days are numbered for PC games in stores. Soon all you'll be able to do is order online. :mad:

Heh, if I had a credit card I'd be doing the same thing LordLeto. I'll look at my local EB store, it's in the same shopping center as my work. I'll just have to wait till payday to get it however if it's there lol. :(

I didnt have one, my sister was kind enough to let me use her debt card.

If stores are following trends, then what the hell compels them to fill a full shelf with Barbie and Nancy Drue games? :mad:

North America release?

Hey everyone,

Is anyone else having a problem finding CK at any of the stores? I thought it was supposed to be out on 9/21, but I've been to EB, Gamestop, and Best Buy everyday since then and they keep saying that it's the following day. Are there problems with the distribution or is Atari worse than SF? Any help would be appreciated because my wife is beginning to be suspicious of why I'm getting home late from work for the past week! Thanks.

Mickey

* Hastings Book, Music, Video
* Meijer Inc.
* Sam's Club (October)

Working to get it into more accounts.

Yeah, I'm quite aware. :rofl:

It has more to do with the fact that I, well, kinda expected it from Paradox. Whereas going from MTW to RTW was frankly a disappointment for me. RTW may look a lot better, but MTW plays better.

Nothing at any of the EBs or Gamestops in the Atlanta area. Although now - for the first time in 10 days - ebgames.com lists it as "usually ships in 24 hours." We'll see.

Hi all. I checked EBs here in Phoenix; the store clerks said that they haven't heard anything about it for a while and also said that they've been having distribution problems because of the hurrcanes in Florida. One more helpful guy at this other EB said it was to arrive today, but that he hasn't heard anything from Atari or anyone else about it. Hmmm....... :confused:
