Any talk of allowing 2 lances?

The Advanced 3062 mod does includes Mission Control and Bigger Drops standard. That is where I have been using the second lance. You start with a capacity for 5 mech drops and can increase that up to 8 through the Engineering Upgrades screen. I am up to 7 right now, but I don't think I have dropped more than 6 so far.

Thanks. I was curious how that worked.

Does the mod 'Advanced 3062' automatically come with two Lance deployment, or is that an additional mod on top of it? I ask because I think Baradul was running the mod in the video I watched and his deployment involved 2 Lances.

I would rather use 1 Lance only if I decided to run the mod. I'd deal with two lances if I had to though.

the included MC and BD in BTA 3062 have been adjusted a bit to suit the makers of that modpack and are a bit different then the standard versions you can get from nexus/github

BTA 3062 does indeed come with multi-lance deployment by default and it cannot be removed without severe difficulty and effort. That being said, it never forces you to take more than 4 mechs if you wish. The option to deploy more is yours and yours alone, I simply give you the option, you deploy at your leisure. BTA is largely about offering choices, this is one of them. I personally recommend that you take 5-6, which is what I consider the sweet spot, but you don't have to.

I figured the mod might have balanced around that larger deployment, so even though you could deploy with less, you probably wouldn't want to.

It isn't a deal breaker, I'll probably try it regardless. Until I try it, I wouldn't know for sure how I'd feel about it anyway.

i like to crank opfor difficulty up and let mission control add extra opfor and then take a balanced 2 lances.

i find myself using more mediums and even some lights late game and far fewer assaults when i have 8 mechs to deploy.

This (and Galaxy at War) are the key to long term enjoyment for me.

More lights and mediums = more fun.

I'd settle for the ability to run low-level missions after you get to a certain point of rating. Once you beat the campaign, it seems hard (impossible) to find missions to send out a light-mech lance on.

Edmon has a reputation mod on Nexus that allows you to take a much wider range of missions. Its a must have, in my opinion.

Sounds like you are in a campaign game where the global difficulty scales up as you progress through the campaign missions. If you restart with a new merc company at some point, try career mode. In Career mode, the system difficulty remains static throughout, so a 2-skull planet stays a 2-skull planet forever.
