Well, you have a lot of unemployed pops. What I would do is look at all of your planets. My guess would be you have too many buildings sucking minerals and energy and not enough basic resource production. Sell some alloy to get credits. Move your unemployed pops around to where you need them to actually produce something. See if you can close any unnecessary buildings. Look at closing any building that isn't giving you something you can sell for cash, if it won't cause unemployment. Adjust your trade policy to the one that does credits and consumer goods if you aren't there already. If you have it on the pure credit one, look at the market and see which one is the better deal for you today.

Destroy your excess starbases. Being that far over the cap is killing for energy income. Use some of your influence to enact your credit boosting edict.

You have enough alloys to sell that you can stabilize. My guess is once you get your starbases back under the cap, and optimize your planets/pops better you will be back in the green in no time.

Yeah, you need to start with scrapping 8 starbases to get down to the cap. That should clear up your energy deficit and give you more alloys to work with. You can sell some food for extra energy as well, you have plenty of that. Then you need to get your minerals and consumer goods sorted out. You are showing a deficit on rares as well. Make sure you are not out of one of those, as that can tank your economy as well.

I have a few thoughts:

1. Downgrade some starbases (absolute priority) - the penalties for going so much over the cap is going to seriously outweigh the income you get from them (if any). that should help your income quite a lot.

2. If you aren't doing so already, use your influence on some of the edicts to increase production of food/minerals/energy.

3. with the income from selling food, move your unemployed pops to planets with jobs, which will be cheaper then building new buildings/districts.

4. what is your trade policy? I would have it either in wealth generation or possibly consumer goods.

5. how did you build up a stockpile of 11K in consumer good but are running a deficit? Consider selling some consumer goods, buy some minerals and build a few civilian fabricators to balance the books (or the consumer goods trade policy might help provided that, after downgrading your starbases, you don't still have a shortage of energy.

6. Commercial pacts with other empires can boost income if you don't already have any.

7. If you don't already have them, get the first couple of traditions in the economy tree asap, as they will help a lot with your economy.

No. Ha has a consumer goods deficit because he doesn't have any minerals to convert to goods, so all his factories are idle. Get the mineral production up, and it should take care of most, if not all, of the consumer goods issues.

Oh, I see. I just saw in another thread that the alloy factories still work even if you are in deficit on minerals but I guess the same doesn't apply for civ factories?

Downgrade 8 of your starbases immediately to get below the cap which should fix your energy deficit. Fixing your energy deficit should then also remove the penalty to mineral production and possibly fix that deficit as well. If it doesn't then sell some food/CG/strategic resources and buy minerals to build up a stockpile. Then hover over your mineral income to see what is causing any remaining deficit. Eventually you want to deal with unemployment on your planets and other resource deficits but those are much less pressing.

In terms of what caused it, most likely you either built or acquired too many starbases which caused an energy deficit due to the increased upkeep which when energy ran out then caused a mineral deficit due to the severe mineral production penalty of having 0 energy.

You have 24/16 starbases which gives an increase of 200% upkeep for starbases (more importantly if they have modules quite expensive). Just this one swings your -21 EC into positive and you are out of this problem:
Energy Shortage: -50% Mineral Output
https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Economy#Shortages
Find your upgraded buildings and destroy them. That -2 negative on special resources. I have a feeling there could be a 0 -1/2. Gives you again -25% Resource Output (see link). And for the future ignore upgrades, only build basic buildings (so you don't even need refineries).

I can't see your empire so I don't even know if you built mining stations in your sectors. They can provide up to 30-40% of your total mineral production (Sprawl is 308 so you should have some sectors). Use 2 Edicts Capacity Overload and Production Targets. Stop the game and sell 10k Food and buy minerals. Build mining districts in your planets with unemployment. Replace/Destroy/Deactivate Refineries, Chemical Plants, Crystals with Commercial Zones (only basic). Destroy Autchthon monuments.

Most likely your unemployment in some planets triggered the demand for consumer goods event (+2 per pop or something). You can't stop these as of right now, but a change in living standard Basic Substinence, Decent Conditions or Social Welfare can change some demand (only if you can take the happiness hit or the increase CG demand).

Did you just conquer some planets? Such stuff can happen easily. Look how your new species fares in your species tab.

Sorry to say this but you are doomed, the crisis is coming and you dont have the eco or the fleet to win.
Start a new game, dont upgrade buildings you cant afford, focus on alloys and prep your fleet for the final showdown.

Looking at the stockpiles of alloys and consumer goods, their economy is in fact strong and should be easily salvaged by taking the steps others have outlined, i.e downgrading excess starbases (judging by the border gore, it looks like they were acquired in a war of conquest?), sell of food alloy or consumer good stockpiles to and use the energy credits from that to buy minerals and solve all that unemployment.

Also, the crisis doesn't fire the second it turns 2400. They could have like 70 years.
