Yes there is a point. Conquest makes it really interesting in playing colonies or colonial power (colonial nations). WoN on the other hand makes playing trade powers enjoyable (pirates, trade companies, etc).

They're both on dirt cheap sale, but even so I have AOW, is there any point having them?
Unfortunately, the Wiki is a bit sparse on DLC details. You might find useful threads by searching the fourm, if you've got the time/inclination.

Some of the features in each patch were restricted behind the DLC paywall. They're seldom critical, but usually useful and desirable. The Conquest of Paradise DLC, for example, which is quite marginal otherwise, includes the ability to engage in a certain diplomatic activity called "support independence", if I'm recalling correctly.

So, yes, especially if they're on sale, and seem reasonably priced, I'd pick them up. If you really get into the game, the absence of even minor features is eventually going to bother you.

That said, I do wonder if they really try or if they really CAN keep features from three or four DLCs past as walled off as they might like. Might be worth investigating if you're particularly price conscious. Value of your time, though... dirt cheap...

CoP is required for playing colonial nations and probably to be recommended if playing natives. Wealth of Nations gives a bunch of trade features, though mostly for naval powers.
