Any News On Release Dates For Other Platforms? (Specifically the Microsoft Store)

So how long is this going to be a steam exclusive?

Don't give me the "reasons why" they made this choice. I just want to know if there is any info on it releasing on the Microsoft Store or other platforms.

It's strange that they put all their other games on the Microsoft Store (and even on Gamepass), but not this one. I would buy this game as I have bought the other games if it were on the Microsoft Store. I will not buy it on Steam though... I have my reasons... they are achievement related.

I already did the double purchase of EU4, Stellaris, and HoI4. I have bought all the DLC as well. I bought CK3 on MS Store.

I guess no one except Paradox Interactive know this for sure. I'm just going to add that I'd love for this game to come to GOG once it stops being a Steam exclusive. Given that EU4 launched on GOG last month, I think there is a non-zero chance of Victoria 3 coming there as well. Fingers crossed.

It's very strange because Victoria 3 was originally slated to be on Gamepass, then they announced it would only be on Steam, but they didn't mention if it was an exclusive or what the situation was.

Originally I thought I'd just have to buy it on the MS Store which I was salivating at the opportunity to, but IDK. The whole situation is strange to me.

No there are no news regarding other platforms.

As for it being "strange", I suspect their experience from other games is that it simply doesn't pay off. More platforms means more work and more bugs, and most likely a relatively small increase in profits. If Microsoft requires it to be included in gamepass it may even result in reduced revenue. Not wanting to risk that isn't strange at all, it's logical.

Once they have milked players for some DLC money, and sold the game to the majority of those willing to buy the game it makes more sense to expand to gamepass. By then the barrier of entry is so high that the Microsoft money might outweigh lost sales.

Also, with people like yourself buying the games a second time through other stores it seems pretty stupid not to make it a Steam exclusive, then release it on other stores after a few DLCs...
